Greetings Fellow Space Pilots,

With the holiday season beginning, it's time to let Santa know how good you've been and tell him what you'd like for Christmas!

As is tradition, we will feature your wishes on our holiday map! Please keep your wishes in the realm of PG-13. If Santa thinks your message is too naughty, we won't be able to post your message!

The easiest way to send your message/wishes is to reply to this thread. If you wish to make your message private until the map reveal, you may send me a ?message in game.

We'll close the requests Sunday, December 8th!

Hi there Santa,
You've arrived in good time,
Get your ass down the chimney,
And hear this little rhyme,

Trench wars is shrinking rapidly,
There's less and less players online,
Those legends that remain are surrounded,
By others that just troll moan and whine,

I remember back in the old days,
Rooms stuffed full of great players,
Stacked LT's cruising for targets,
If they stopped near you - best say your prayers,

Now the chat was really lively,
The ability really high,
The exodus had not yet started,
No thought of saying bye,

But the sun was soon to set,
On a game that many played tirelessly,
At first on wired modems,
Eventually of course then wirelessly,

Now hanging on for grim survival,
With the game now close to expiring,
Are the last geriatric combatants,
Some now close to retiring,

These final fighters wield their weapons,
But few opponents now come to fight,
And the candle flickers on Trench Wars,
Soon to fade into the night,

Unless Santa you bring a gift,
Of new life to this old game,
Because I fear without it,
It's the end, in all but name.

Thanks to all the volunteers who have contributed over the last three decades to keep this game in operation. It's been a small but significant piece of my life. I don't know of another game where many of the same people have played together from all over the world for 20-plus years. That has to hold some kind of record. So, regardless of whether this game survives in the nearby future, here's to you all and the memories we shared, and especially to the people we don't see who laid down bricks for this game. Thank you.

PS: At least give me one more chance to win a TWL title.
