Honestly, I agree with both of you. The old pub settings had their own charm and kept the zone feeling alive. Things were simpler, more chaotic in a good way, and everyone knew what to expect when they logged in. Right now it feels like we’re trying too hard to “fix” something that didn’t really need fixing.

Going back to the classic map/settings — even just as a test — could bring back some of that energy and maybe even some old players. At this point, with a smaller population, the basics are what work best. Just my thoughts.

I've offered my help with dev, as I've always been willing to help TWDev. With small population we don't need the big fancy map or nerfed ships. In my opinion we should restore circa 2012 map/settings and then leave it alone. It is clear that the changes are unanimously disliked. I'm not voicing up to point fingers or blame anyone, as a sysop you get players that disagree with your decisions/changes/lack of changes/anything no matter what you do. If you do nothing it's your fault. If you change something you messed it up. If you don't change something you should have. It's not an easy position to be in.

However, in this day/age and given the low population I see a clear solution that is not controversial. Restoring the map and settings to pub that everyone loved for decades. OG's check in every now and then to see if it's "still not the same" as it used to be. Then they log off. These "check ins" get less frequent, and ultimately they stop checking in.

Trench Wars is supposed to be the nostalgic, classic, unchanging pub that made it number 1 when there was actually heavy competition. We're actually seeing more people play other zones now.

My two cents, for what it's worth.
I agree we need trench wars 2012 was also powerful. LT and people hunting it because it was always bombing the flag room and that kept the games alive. People would get pissed when they were basing and getting bombed with slow purple LT bombs which had a big damage, that was good times. It was fun being a levi terrier and being able to warp and get away with fast speed. That is the reason why they developed a bot up there on the roof to stop the LTS. However, that shouldn't be the problem as people can chase the LTS with other ships
