Pubbing for 1000+hour users

I don't agree with a pub that would allow only players with 1,000+ play. I say this because 1,000 hours doesn't mean you will not team-kill intentionally.

1,000 hours does mean you have a little more experience and better control of your ships, but it will not prevent newbiness, which is why you want this pub in the first place.

You and the rest of the squad is pretty much sick of players that come to pure-pub to "practice" shots, (something they could easily do in a private arena)

One suggestion I had in mind would be to lock the roof to prevent javs and terrs from ruining the flagroom action in a pure-pub arena from the roof.

I would like a "Vub" as CC called it, to be created. Hell, why not? What if you're bored and don't feel like being restricted to ship a cap places you in while playing ?go base. You can go here, and play around with, well, not the "newbies" of TW. I support the idea.

I wouldn't say this idea would be too detrimental to pubs but I guess it's a slippery slope. My main problem with ss is that 90% of the effort is spent on 10% of the people who play it. I could be wrong but I expect most people got hooked on this game while playing pub, before they knew much about events and leagues where most of the effort seems to go.

Pub is the place to be but some people need to bang their heads together and figure out ways to make it more interesting, especially for those who've played for a while. This whole "pub is pub" thing, can't change maps can't change anything, should really change. Why not have different pubs for 0-100 hours usage, and 100-200, 200-300 etc, so people can progress a bit? Why not try pubs with different maps (don't bother replying with if you change one you have to change them all..). I expect there are a lot of people like me who sometimes find pub a bit boring but still more interesting than anything else ss has to offer.

well, how about instead of looking at what people think of the thing and look at some facts...

1. ALL pub settings are server.cfg (no way around it)
2. The server.cfg is where the minimum hours to get in arena are set
3. If you changed it then it'd apply to all pubs

so, good idea, but not feasible...maybe a ?go pub500 or something, but an actual "Public" arena, not possible

Okay people forget the fact that I said a Pub. What do you think about the idea of an arena for experinced users. I dont want to hear anthing else about it not being able to be a pub because it is not possible and that is not the point of a public arena. So would you like the idea of an arena like this?????

I don't know the technical stuff like you do so I may be missing something. But as far as I know you can host arenas 24/7, just like a pub, and you can program bots to do whatever you want them to do (within reason) and have as many bots as you want. Let me know what I'm missing because I don't see why what you're saying stops anything.

I agree with whoever said make it another arena. Dont make it a pub bc when u start restricting pubs it gets iffy. Pub 0 (pure basing) is usualy made up of alot of "vets" so to say anyway. Thats the only pub i even consider playing unless its in a levi to LT or something. I think its a good idea, or an idea to have an arena wher eonly ppl with so much usage can enter/play, but i dont think it'd realy be to successful. If u want to play competative wbs, play .?go elim. if u want to play competative basing then .?go base.
