Private basing is what warportal hosted on sunday evenings.

I'm all for the argument that everyone should get a chance to play. I'm also more than aware that if you put people onto teams who you're not framiliar with, 9 times out of 10 you get burned. Not to mention the problems when newcomers are assigned to captain. The quality of the gaming degrades fast.

Idealistically yes it should be spread around. But in reality it just doesn't work that way and sooner or later it'll be so polluted by people too boneheaded to know or care what happens that the people who priv base will be off looking for another arena, until somebody tells the world about that one.

Priv base = private for a reason.

Also, I'm not saying do away with private basing completely.... just have an arena where people can see how it should be played... u can keep #Mythrandir private for all i care just make an arena where people can see basing work right. You dont wanna participate with newer players, don't show up

?go basing was the solution for newbs wanting to pub - it didn't work. If you think #mythrandir is the solution, mention it to him and staff. Opening up the idea to the public without first looking at the consequences is ignorant.

its not hard to create.
the specific rules can be argued about.
everyone agrees that it would be a lot of fun.

Don't worry about that RR, I doubt you'd ever be able to do that....in a wasel.

And about players new to basing (league wise), I believe a whole lot of them has become quite good and are learning fast. I don't think many people are so stupid they can't learn and adapt.

On the few occasions I've been cap I've chosen a few newcomers too and I have yet to be dissapointed.

The only negative thing with newcomers to basing is when they get to cap. Not because I might not get chosen to play ( ) but because it oftens turns out to be a bad thing -> game gets fucked up in some way.
