Yep, you've just described the real reason why most people hate Weasels. For that reason, I almost never cloak outside of base, just to keep things fair. Unless I'm up against Spiders. I hate Spiders.

In my opinion, cloaking is a necessary evil in that in can be used both properly and improperly. The real use for it is killing Terrs and grabbing the flag, but it can also be used for killing random ships without fear of retaliation. Fortunately, not many people do this in the more popular Pubs.

However, chances are that if you're playing in Pub, your bounty isn't going to get very high, unless you spend all your time sniping and running. In that case, you might very well deserve to get cloaked eventually.

That said, I agree. Taking X-radar was a rather silly move to begin with, and it makes little difference if they have it back. People will, perhaps, jav more.

za, concerning your wb story anecdote. How does giving javs Xradar help a wb on 1000 bounty? will you pull the teamwork string? ... lancs and terriers are part of a team, too.

Perhaps it illustrates the lameness of the weasel. But lameness really depends a lot on how seriously you take the game.
I'm not saying that if you don't take the game seriously you won't find weasels lame. Just that its a significant factor.

I think they should give weasels back infite cloak, it was the only way i got kills when i started this game...

Here's my opinion,

I use the Weasel about 90% of the time and I think the Cloaking should just be scrapped, I like the small size, and I never use Cloak, It's so much easier without it.

Great initiative, thanks. Although 200+ total votes may seem like a lot, I would not be surprised if it is only like a quarter or a third of the total Trench Wars player base.

Now to catch the attention of more people an occasional green message with a sound could be done.

It would be interesting to see more votes in the future. Such as: Does the Warbird need Xradar?

Give javs back the x-radar at the same drain as before they can still use bullets twice toggling x on and off to defend. The terr as the more important ship in the flagroom should not endanger itself trying to take out a weasle which usually the terr and x both die leaving the other team free to crash in easily.

Make the little pests big pests again and take away their x-radar they have enough of an advantage being able to sneak up behind you unseen. Make them fight their way in just like everyone else.

well i had another fun morning in pub, Xers stealing flag made it a neverending game, javs on roof prevented us from having the firepower to take base, and when i did get in, i was tked by roof javs. big fun....

It would be nice if javs got there radar back... reason being, in the odd even of being a lone jav and the terrs not thinking of x its always nice to rely on having your own protection. happend many a time to me where theres no radar on from the terr until i get killed.... like i said in other posts, would be nice to have things the way they were like 4-5 years ago. Not sayin put the x's back to big but just make them more detectable..

The one thing that everyone in this thread seems to be ignoring, is that there already exists a ship which is built for annihilating cloakers: Lancs. If you don't want your Terriers and flag to fall victim to annoying pussy faggot Weasels, just keep one or two Lancs around with X-radar on. I know from experience that when FR has a couple enemy Lancs inside, it's practically impossible for a Weasel to survive long enough inside to do any real damage.

My point is that it's unnecessary to turn Javs into Weasel-murdering machines because Lancs already do the job just fine. And it's not as if a player is making some kind of sacrifice by being one; they're also good at killing every other ship. If Ship 7 was just a little more popular, this poll wouldn't be needed.

Yes, Weasels are plenty effective in most situations without Cloak. Inside an enemy-occupied FR, however, you have to agree that it's difficult to live long without it. Far too difficult, in my opinion.
