POLL: Should Javelins get XRadar back?

I am one of those guys that voted no, well I should have voted neither (but there was no option) because I don't see Weasels as a problem. From what I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong) but the Small Weasels came out before Timed-Matches. So players are really only complaining because it's affecting Timed games, but really it's a viable strategy? Unless you want to remove Timed-Matches because I see no difference between the gameplay between now and pre-Timed-Matches, then that's fine too. So to conclude, I'm not too bothered about what happens to the Weasel.

again, when I say wzl/weasel, it means uncloaked, X means cloaked.

I don't understand all the hype about the X when most pilots who fly the "annoying" ship 6 fly uncloakek.

There are 3 ships that can effectively kill an X: terr, lanc,wzl.
There are 4 ships that can effectively kill a weasel: lanc,spid,wb,wzl

in pub, there's always a terr around, usually always at least one spid(hopefully), a few wbs, and a few wzls. Is that not enough to defend against the wzls/Xs? keep in mind the jav bombs.

No matter how big this weasel problem may seem, it is a relatively small one compared to the jav problem in pub. choosing wzl is a very efficient way of clearing roof, and choosing X is one way of saving flag, however difficult it is; while 50%+ people choose jav because they make things go boom...

please, I ask at least one person who blindly voted yes on this poll to try and fly a wzl in base in pure pub, and count the tks,random shrap/explosion, repped mines. You will realized just how difficult it is to fly the wzl.

TKing is illegal right? why can't javs be reshipped into spid after 2-3 tks? I get the warning to report tks only once, and I ignore it completely because it's impossible to report every single one of those tks.

An easy fix to this is to increase the time buffer between when the flag has changed posession and when the bot recognizes it as a posession change. I remember when the timed games first started, there was no time-buffer and it was hell because of all the cloakers, so I suggested a time-buffer to qan. Problem is, I dont' think it's long enough because the problem of cloakers flooding the FR for a flag steal still exists. I know you cant make the time-buffer too long or else it gets ridiculus but I think you can spare a couple more seconds to give the team who holds the FR (and deserves the flag) a chance to get it back if it was a fluke cloaker suiciding to steal it.

hmm, do any of you actually PLAY pub with this new weasel? I tried basing a little in the second purepub earlier and got bored pretty quickly. Since it was a priv freq, I didnt have to deal with newbie jav tkers except for geetar so at least that was good. But the last time I remember basing in purepub was back in the old settings for jav/lanc/weasel..i think i remember whiterabbits playing purepub a lot then, toward the end of that squad. Back then there was a LOT of newbie tker javs, and occasionally me when i wanted to have some fun, but there was a closer to real basing game there. Usually around 8v8 or more basing I would say. Now when I went in, there was 2 or 3 people trying to take base from the 6 of us, and AT LEAST 4 weasels coming in the sides, the majority of which not even bothering to use cloak or stealth, since it's a waste of energy. If these people had been basing instead of whatever they think theyre doing with weasels it would have been a gg. Instead we had a lanc in each ear camping them and no real threat down low.

As a wb, I have noticed that this new weasel is pretty much useless. Its pretty much impossible to cloak anyone when theyre gonna know youre coming, since you have to reveal yourself for energy every so often, which isnt very stealthy. I've been getting a lot of 300+ bounty runs in wb lately, which is about 200 more than i should, considering newbies' tendency to pack hunt me after i get 100. They just cant cloak anymore to 'teach me a lesson' so i run rampant until i get strayed or warp into a bullet. In fact the only times ive been weasel'd have been when some newbie boosts halfway across my screen and shoots an undodgable shot at max speed while uncloaked. I dont think that was the desired effect of the new weasel.

And clownnewbie, ph was better in the old weasel than anyone is in this new one. it took more skill to use and when you were good with it, it had the potential beat any ship, even terr. I remember several pubbers mad at those tactics, however most memorable to me was Joselitos> i am want to put pecker in pussy <-- ROFL

It's true, I was God in the old weasel. They probably won't go back to the old settings because they don't want to deal with entire enemy freqs sending cheater calls on me again.

There's tons of weasel hate because they're abused by some players. *cough* apaloser *cough*.

All they do all day long is shoot from corners sniping. IMO that's the gayest way to play I wonder how these kids do not become bored. There's no challenge in it whatsoever.

You go get them and they sneak through holes. Fixing it would be to take xradar away from weasels so they can't see each other. That weasel hanging around by that corner could be eventually snuck up upon. That or make them bigger than the holes but that takes away their base sneaking ability. I think that's a good part of the game. What people need to understand is that lanc is more of a basing ship now that they have x.

Being good at the old Weasel wasn't much of an achievement. It was just cloak, kill, and repeat. I did that when I first started using the new Weasel, and I was good at it, but it didn't involve much skill. Was the old Weasel much different?

Yes. It actually required skill to get a streak of more then 3 kills. And some people like Rion. and PH were really good at it.

Givinmg x radar will just encourage more little fukers in pub to javelin, theres already way too many. Power the javelin down so we get less, and try to make more people playing a true basing ship, like a spider.

I have two suggestions if Javs get X-Radar back.

1. First, change the weasels so that they can use both stealth and cloak without drain. Otherwise, that makes the weasels absolutely useless, and while I know that cheers every single one of you haters, it's not a good thing.
2. Remove X-Radar from the Lanc. I'm one of the biggest lanc fans, but I know that I can kill a weasel without X-Radar with one. I've done it several times in the past. We don't need over half the ships to have the ability to hunt down the poor weasels.
