POLL: Should Javelins get XRadar back?

Best suggestion so far. It would likely increase the quality of basing because there would probably be more people using spiders to hold down the FR. Javs are fine as long as there's not 6 people in the FR using them. But if there were a couple javs and 4 spids, I think basing would improve.

while almost everyone mindlessly voted yes on this, I chose to vote no.

Everyone thinks giving javs x radar is gonna solve something. Almost nothing will change if javs get their radar back. a roofing jav is useless against weasel, cloaked or uncloaked(trust me, not even a terr can kill a weasel, what can a jav do..); a jav in base will tk regardless of what happened. xradar might increase tk because the javs now have a reason to bomb in base instead of at the little holes.

Right now, the main reasons weasels cloak are:
1. trying to save flag
2. revenge to piss people off
3. newbie who thinks no one can see them.
4. some rare dedicated Xs, which is difficult because of energy drain.


Think of it in the weasel's point of view as well. They can't keep cloak+stealth on for very long; 1 hit from anything and they are crippled; and they have to deal with the CONSTANT tks. (played pure pub for half an hour today, out of my 14 deaths, 10 were tks)

I like the idea of giving xradar to spids, it will increase basing, it will hurt the Xs but not by a significant deal, and it will make Xs harder to sneak into base and save flag.

Just my 2 cents, please consider what i said before starting any unnecessary flaming.

In addition, I vote to remove xradar on other ships beside terr and jav, as it once was. I also vote on some sort of change for the weasels. Keep them as they are, just make cloak take more energy and/or shots weaker.

hmm i have to disagree with the lanc. its a newbie ship and always has been, but I think this new lanc is really a lot better balanced than the old one, which was just pretty much a slow wb that strays people (how many times did you used to spawn into an undodgable flurry of poorly aimed yellow bullets). Also the using multifire now has a plus side to and and a down side.

A poll like this doesn't really work. Only the people who are unhappy with something will voice their opinion and tell like-minded players or friends to go vote as well. The majority who just wish to play the game will not bother to make an account on the forum for the sole purpose to vote. A better way of setting up a vote might be to do it in-game, with a bot.

I wonder how many people would vote Yes, if you rephrase the poll to something like "Should ship X have XRadar". Ship X being their favorite ship.

Throwing around XRadar isn't a solution to the real problem: the cloaker itself. I remember people complaining when it had normal size too, but I agree that sizing it back will reduce its annoyance factor considerably. A small cloaker completely defeats the purpose of having a flag room with 1 chokepoint.

Also, a decent Javelin player (with Xradar) on the roof can wreck a basing match almost as bad as a Lev-Terr. The cloaker is a useful ship to keep the roof clean. Without Xradar you will need a Terrier to cover your back, which will cut down on the solo "roof lamers". The function of the roof is to break a tight defense, but it is easily abused.

So perhaps the poll should have a third option: Resizing the cloaker to its former proportions and settings.

As it stands now I will have to abstain my vote.
