A poll like this doesn't really work. Only the people who are unhappy with something will voice their opinion and tell like-minded players or friends to go vote as well. The majority is too lazy to go to the forum or might not even notice the entrance message.

So, just because the "majority" of the TW pop is too lazy, this poll sucks? It sounds like if they are just too ignorant, you think this poll's results should be rejected. Ignorant people suck.

Using a bot inside the game really might have been a better option, you'll reach far more people as well. A special voting module on all the pub-bots or something along those lines would be marvelous.

Trust me, even if some people voted multiple times and you took those votes out the results would still be quite lopsided in favor of giving X-Radar back. The only ones that don't want it to come back are the ones that think sneaking in from roof holes like a pussy is a legitimate part of basing. They'll dislike it even more when they have to face me with it.

AnidaLife and Used Ink pretty much know what they're talking about. I agree with most of their points.

I've actually noticed since Javelins have had X-Radar taken away, less people whine when they die to a Cloaked Weasel. Obviously, people still do whine, but it was worse when they actually had the radar. Hmm.

In fact, now that I think about it, hardly anyone whines when they die to me any more while I'm Cloaked, but they'll whine when someone else does it. What the fuck is up with that? It's certainly not my popularity. :redfaceol

People here are pretty much anti-Weasel, regardless of what you say. It's the best example off the top of my head but I know it's not a very good one: If you (hypothetically) presented a Priest with hard proof that his religion was wrong, his holy book was null and void and everything he knew was incorrect, (usually) he would still deny the evidence, ignore it and go about his old ways. That's how the Trench Wars population is regarding the Weasel. As long as the ship has the ability to Cloak, it will be hated. Nevermind its other weaknesses that noone seems to notice, like the low energy in the current conception, or the turning circle like the fucking Titanic in the previous ones - It can Cloak!

Cloaking is undeniably a very strong ability, but throwing a bomb is far more powerful. Really. Why the fuck do you think Javelins are so popular?

Lately I've found I quite enjoy sneaking into the base to save the flag, which is a lot harder than you'd think, cloaked or not, (rarely from the roof, PH ) and it's a lot more difficult than you'd think.

I'll pretty much always love the Weasel because it's akin to the Rogues that I enjoy playing in other games (I guess I'll be hated forever :biggrinol). I loved the Weasel when it was big and though it took me some time to accept it and adapt, I love the current settings too.

How many fucking changes does the ship have to go through?

So you would agree that the real problem is the size of the cloaker, not the fact the Javelin has Xradar or not. Of course most people are going to vote Yes if you ask them if their favorite ship needs Xradar.

Dying from something you have no control over is irritating, this is understandable, but the cloaker does have its uses. I am just worried about more Javelins that will start camping the roof.

Come to think of it, didn't TWDev discover a set of special tiles, such as one that you could shoot through, but not fly through? If such a tile exists we could even keep the size of the cloaker the same, while making the holes to the flagroom inaccessable to it. Can anyone from TWDev look into this?

wow. 146 - 22. and i have been saying this for a year. only a few people like those fucking things. cloakers suck.

By the way, i dont think that all ships should have x-radar. that just makes the game more annoying, as you have to press "end" every 5 seconds. instead of doing that, just modify the weasel so that it isn't a lame ship that kills people who cant defend themselves.

The size of the cloaker is a problem, yes, but I don't really see them changing that back so I'll take what I can get.

I don't really think the javelin being players' "favorite ship" has much to do with the way they voted; I think they feel, like me, that their X-Radar was unnecessarily taken from them and they want it back. Ships that never had X-Radar shouldn't get it. There was NOTHING wrong with the settings from two years ago. In trying to fix something that wasn't broken, staff ruined any hope pubs might have had. With these settings, new players who go into a pub base learn to play one of three different ways:

• Be a terrier, use RoboBoy's ridiculous !warp feature, burst, port out, and hope you pick someone off.
• Be a javelin, shoot wildly at the holes, and hope you pick someone off. If a teammate gets in the way, too bad.
• Be a weasel, sneak into holes, steal a flag that you don't deserve and make a general nuisance of yourself.

When I started playing, basing in the first pub was often controlled by a priv freq consisting of those whiterabbits bastards. You almost never saw a javelin on this freq, yet they completely dominated anyone who tried to enter, not only because they worked well together and used common sense, but more importantly because the settings were they way they should have been (i.e. loaidng your team down with several people in one type of ship couldn't break down a team that was actually playing well). With the current settings, though, even a tight FR defense will fall apart because two or three weasels (doesn't matter who they are since the ship is so easy to use) always sneak in through a roof hole and assassinate the terrier.

It's impossible to fend these fucking insects off right now because instead of watching one entrance, the terrier has to watch ten additional holes. And with all the javelins floating around, you're almost better off not even announcing the weasel's presence. Don't believe me? Say "x" in team chat and watch all the jav bombs suddenly fly at random holes. If you're not going to leave the weasel in its current retarded state, then at least give the smarter javelins a chance to defend against them.
