Random Idea..

Squad vs. Squad UFC's

For Warbirds and Javs. Same format as normal UFC, caps get to choose whomever in whatever order they want (though it could also be structured more). Number of players could be set before match IE 5, 10, 15 etc.

I can see different kinds of arguments being raised against this one (IE it doesn’t promote team play, certain players will dominate others, players can go 1 on 1 all they want in dueling arenas etc) I would like to see it tested out all the same. It puts focus on individual players while they are still being supported by their squadmates. It is a good exercise for those who end up 1 on 1 at the end of a close JD, DD, LJ, LD etc.

Additional related ideas:

- Automated UFCs.

- Squad vs the World is another option which would allow more of TW's general population to get involved

well something I was thinking about but it would take awhile...

host a javtourny (1v1 or 2v2), and there will be 16 games of this so each time a player wins the javtourny, they advance to the finals. so say a player/players qualify to the finals, they wont be allowed to play the next qualifying javtourny because they already made it so after we have 16 games of the tourny the winners from each will play in the finals, 1 whole game.

I know this seems crazy and would take a long time but it will get interesting and fun. Just my opinion an a event though doesnt matter to me.

p.s.:1v1 would be easier btw because in 2v2 their partner might not show up to the finals if they qualify.

i havent been able to host a lot lkie i plan to cause of school thats over in less than a month so things will be hosted!

there are a few things i would like to be changed:

- mods being more present in pubs (already happened the last months)


- getting rid of that 5 kills disconnect thing and instead giving ppl some kind of an idle timer like the safety timer, just for being totally idle like not chatting or playing, there is enough ppl specblocking the pubs to collect usage. im not naming them here.... but all they have to do to not get banned by mr. arro is to put the enter and leave messages to chat. some of them are afk for DAYS until they play again or are active for 2 mins and then go back afk for the rest of the day. such a timer would make the bots at least do something useful. the bot could message the ppl after like 30 mins that they have only 30 mins left and will get kicked then and later on start a countdown. would be great if ppl who always spec would have less spectime before being kicked tho.


- some kind of a training arena for the basic commands and abilitys the ships have(remember that offline training thing in old ss?) where you could send those guys who got no idea about the game cos they are too lazy to read the helpfile (a good place for the so-called zone helpers)


- DIFFRENT hosted things, not always the same. 24/7 ?go base and ?go elim take away alot of the good players from good games and pubs, on european daytime something like being a levterr is almost impossible cos the first two non-levi pubs have all players in and the third holds just those hourcollectors mentioned before


- more helpful mods. havent seen any of those guys wearing the <ZH> tag helping newbies asking questions in pub. its always other players. the mods seem to sit in privates or are afk all the time. just very few that seem to actually be interested in what goes on in pubs (big thank you to those who do!!!)


- would be great to enable all ships in ?go duel (any idea how great x duels can be?! i L O V E them ;-)"


- some special weekend events like those basing weekends long ago. like every second weekend. things like non-levi weekends were common, but what about no-lanc or no-x weekends, or some big-turrets for like 5 or 6 ppl per turret or attachable wbs. bet there will be enough creative ideas. some voting for it could go on here


- since the bots give the hint for the ?cheater command, why cant they also spec players who repeatedly teamkill AND ARE REPORTED TO THE BOT OR SOMETHING in a short period of time for a few minutes ? (i definatly do not want the levis or javs that have to suffer from newbs running into their bombs to be specced) and maybe count how many teamkills and who they teamkilled with what bty to let mods check it on reports?


- do NOT let players vote for javs xradar and then ignore the vote.....this doesnt make ppl feel like their words are heard

Some possible things to change/add to TWD.

1) Get rid of SD it is a complete waiste of staff's time

2) Possibly add a hockey League

3) I believe it has been mentioned before but A Strike Ball league to TWD. A lot of squads I'm sure would be interested in this i.e. Pallies (We know Divine rides <3's his Strike Ball)

4) Have a lower TWL for the 16 squads after the original top squads. This way more players would get some more competitive experience then just playing your ordianry TWD matches. Then possibly have the squad that gets 1st in this invited to TWL the next year.

5) I was listening to some people talking about a TWZL (Trench War Zone League) I guess it would be like a Extreme Games flagging version of TW. Might be fun and possible to add to twd

As far as Events <ER>'s could do a lot more hosting of a lot of games that have died. My solution make witness an <ER>. GG!


I would be willing to do any coding for events that are propsed if asked other than that I'm not very creative so I'm not much help.

It's better to actually try and fix the bad settings (random damage, spawn radius) than to just say "Fuck it" and scrap it completely.

Who cares about base stats? Go look at twd stats? See....you don't give a shit. Honestly I could care less which newbie in .?go base can average 100 kills each game.........AND IM SURE MOST NEWBIES WHO PLAY GO BASE could care less. Not puttin you down, but .?go base is a PROBLEM in trench wars. Why would we make a website to encourage it?


TW radio wasn't that bad. I'll be honest.... but pallies ran shit in that area. They would always give shout outs, smoke weed, and make jokes about people. They spiced it up. Not sayin others didn't, but I really didn't listen to when DaddaKing or someone like this hosted it.

Like I said before, if staff went out of their way to ask popular people like "All of Dice" (merce, cape, mess, mega) to host at the SAME TIME.....I'm sure this would draw hundreds of people to an arena. But be creative. Make a top 10 list for them to read off or something. Get big name people to host radio.....newbies suck up to them all the time....they would obviously listen to them if they did radio............................................. or like I said up there ^, use their names in advertisements. Basically .?go twld/twlb/twld Look at the rosters. Hell even if they are not logged in.....say something like "So and So is a euro, and hes sleeping right now, but I know he would love to own you in .?go <EVENT>

how do i think of these things so easily? Staff, just pm me in game to get 10 more people in your event just by the Ad itself. I'll tell you what to write in green if you want too.

wow, i agreed upon everything you said right up until now. Pallies had their own radio, Dadaking was NEVER a radiohost, and you honestly don't know shit about TWRadio. Some radio hosts were boring, i admit. Then there were the few ones with personality like ksharpe, froe, junka, (possibly me), crazi and a bunch others.

my two cents

My first and most important opinion:
-please i beg, fewer events where people pick a team. it's alright if the remaining people are added randomly, but really, stuff like hockey is a waste of my time to show up to, and is a waste of a bot/host on busy nights.

-i played EG a lot a couple years ago, and i like their system where people use the points they get from playing and from events to buy prizes like prox.
i think it'd be cool to get a thor or something fun prized in pub if i won hunt or something.

-other comment about hosts and their personalities. SO IMPORTANT. being friendly isn't the most important, just have unoffensive personality. if you treat people normal and not ignore them even if you dont recognize their name and they arent saying anything, it makes my day i think hosts should be providing some sort of commentary or something.
(for the most part though, you're all doing a bangup job from what i see)

-general note, more events that end up playing like dm or base or javs are pointless, because it's the same gameplay.
my favourites: tkwars, shrap, turretwar.
oh and for shrap, could the map be made different? it just wasnt made for shrap gameplay.

If you're still reading this thread. I'd suggest completely changing the levi settings and bring back the old old weasel settings. Also, bring over BaseDuel from EG, that event is so much fun!

I don't think you saw this:
Pallies ran shit in that AREA, not ARENA.

But yea, exactly. I was talking about Pallies running their own radio, and pretty sure more people listened to that then TW radio, esp when TW radio was advertised a lot and pallies radio wasn't really. People like Crazi got hundreds of people listening to his radio, which was good to listen to. (The staff advertising and getting an arena filled with listerners helped a bunch too. But Daddaking was an example of some random newbie who nobody cared to listen to (whether or not he hosted was irrelevant, its just an example)......the exact thing that you said "Some radio hosts were boring, i admit.".

So basically, you agreed with everything I said, and still do.


I know more of you guys out there reading this completely agree with me, on everything I have said in this thread probably. Don't be scared to "agree with genes" oOoooO.
