The point of marketting

@lecherious young gun and anyone else wondering why we are doing it...

Firstly, we need to keep the game alive, which means we need to keep players. This game is going to be no fun if theres only 10 people playing it. People quit, people die, people find theres life outside... we need to bring people in to replace them. LevTerrs need newbs to kill in pub, Elimmers need newbs to kill in Elim.. etc. A few years ago the future of the servers was unsure - they had to move, we were having to pay for them etc. Now that we are pretty secure, we can think about expanding our userbase.

Secondly, its a cool game. We want people to know about it. I personally like to see people enjoying it, and I like the people I meet through subspace. Why not share something good with other people?

Thirdly, I personally feel SS deserves more recognition. Its one of the first ever massively multiplayer graphical internet games - its a peice of living history and still a great game to play. Why not tell people about that?

So to sum up, this is mainly about survival - we need new blood to reverse the decline in player numbers we've been seeing over the past few years. But we also just want to shout about how cool SS is

If we really wanted alot more players to join we should make a thread on the g4tv.com forums, it is a widely viewed gaming forum and when soldat was put in the spotlight alot of people joined. i dunno if they still do the free play friday on Attack of the Show (showing a free game on the internet) but if they do the pop. of SS would x 5+

If the SS community is serious about a bit of advertising, it may be possible to get some national (North America) TV attention/coverage by having it reviewed on G4TV.

No guarantee, yet I do have a few friends working there as well as family member that are involved with the channels shows & programming.

The show Game Play is doing a show on the 1st RPG game, the story behind the creation and rise of the Unreal series. So if they can do a show like that, why not one for one of the first and still running multi player game SS?

All I can do is suggest this, but perhaps if people would go to G4TV's website and email them with a story on SubSpace, we could get some air time and a review or two.
