Yes Stabwound, this is what I'd like to see, I wrote about it in Staff's private
forums in June as a reply to Mootland's Zone Objectives topic.
here it is again for the public.. :
" TW's pub map is old fashioned and boring, EG got it's players because they
actually had an entertaining pub map. EG's flagging pub is far more interesting
with it's cool graphics than TW's. We need to finally upgrade our pub map
and game play, the ship settings are what have made TW so popular, not
that one flag in J6.
If we finally dramatically enhance the gameplay we could get more attention
among other zone's pubbers.
AND
The people who are playing the game for the first time will try TW as their
first choice because of the amount of players we always have (of which
about 50 is bots =/ at best) but might turn down whole continuum because
of our boring looking pub map.
First thing we should do is make it look cooler, and you can do this without
lowering FPS too much for even crappier computers.
I liked the idea of bringing bots to pubs and giving more reasons for players
to go for the flag, but it needs improvement. What is a teamleader anyway?
More new ideas! The bots could print out a list of players with most kills that
round, best points, etc flag takes... like several other zones have.
Reason why I'm talking about EG is that it managed to get a lot of players
eventhough it came later than TW, DSB and other lame SVS zones, and the
reason for it was that they had a innovative map creator and fast paced pub.
Had SSCC Metal Gear CTF appeared sooner they would now be having as
much players as EG or DSB because today's players want eyecandy, but we
aren't getting so many new players to this game anymore so Metal Gear isn't
among the top 3 zones though I could bet that they will become a 200 ppl
zone within a year.
We mustn't think as old pubbers, we play a big part as introducing newcomers
to this game so we need to think about that too, and not just about who
has the flag. "
