Nah, hosts are just stupid, you might see it as Zombies is Zombies, but it used to be 5x better when Left did Fantana's, players get emotionally evolved with a charismatic host, and therefore that host gets more players. doing !zoner Run. ?go zombies. - bob lah blah <ER> doesn't really make me want to run and go play, if staff used a little bit of creativity in this events, and their adverts then more people might go to their events. It's like when I used to be a waiter, I could tell a customer our special for the night is "a chicken dish" or I could say "Its a savory breast of grilled chicken, lightly garnished with a zesty lemon butter sauce, and topped with tropical pineapple slices." Which would you be more likely to buy.

However I don't agree with the diversity in maps. Try actually getting someone to host it, I mean gazer takes almost all requests for his hostathons. Plus people don't really come to events they don't like or don't know. People like zombies, thats why it almost always has 40+ people. Make a quality map with an original idea that will catch on before you complain about your maps not being hosted....not this javs8 horsecrap.

Gotta admit those days were ace, the days when i was an event whore and went to every event that was advertised and why? Because I was sure most of them would be something different and exciting and the hosts were great at ensuring that!

Now ive turned into some inactive nub because i cant be arsed cause everything bores me if im frank (although dont tell my squad i said that, they think i cant get online no more :fear: )

Actually Yes i may be CURRENTLy the most active <ER>, But frankly i do see mods hosting. lets not forget about them. I see barton and Left Eye still hosting. Acumo does once in a while too! So there are hosts. Just not as many as the last few months. Just watch next month things will go back to normal ^_^.

PS Flibb and Lea are also very active in the hosting dept. And have a greater variety. I usually host whats being requested via ?help HOST <Insert random event>

Rumor last I heard was the lack of euro staffers now we have centurian <ZH> but thats just a run across the southern border not really european. But what can you get *zone Ok lets all play the laggiest event ?go eurolag -Sika <ER> . we need more europeans that will host like madmen so I vote Duel Pasta <ER>. and if you wanna get desperate ph <ER>.

You are right, I see nycle hosting, barton and acumo once in a while, hell I even saw kim hosting 6 events in a row or something like that, but still, it doesn't happen alot, and its not mods task to host, they can if they want. never should've promoted acumo or nycle or barton ^_^ and yes flibb hosts too and you see hocky hosting, basicly you see every ER hosting, but its late for us euros, now there aren't alot of people online from 12pm to about 19pm (gmt+1) but still I'd like to see some events hosted.

I miss events like glider, dodgeball deathmatch (hosted like striker used to do it, with ters, NOT WARBIRDS), ?go charge (one of the best events ever with more then 50 people), ?go omniverse (I mean WHY is this never hosted)

I could go through my zone list but I don't want to bore you with all the maps I want to see hosted


EDIT: ?go color waiting for upload, it'll propably be up tomorow, its from jabjabjab and I seriously want to see it hosted with the bot. On a sidenote: jab has matured alot and now makes alot of great events so congratulate him if you see him ^_^

I am about 90% certain hosting blows nowadays primarily because good hosting techniques have not been properly left as a legacy to the newer staff members. It's probably already been said, but that includes how you train staff members. There ought to be a position other than mod that the really great ERs can be promoted to where they have a role to be teachers of the new ERs. I'm thinking something similar to how college fraternities operate. That way you can give the best ERs something to look forward to while still having the benefit from their hosting experience and knowledge.

Nycle is in charge of training new and current staff members. There's also a group (1 ER and a few Moderators) who are ER trainers. Same for ZHs. We need to promote some people to ER but I think new ZH hires are likely to occur first in the next 2 weeks before that. 2 months is a long time without any movement on the ER front, finding people good enough is a factor for both positions currently.
