Good, this place needs a refreshing new point of competition and tolerance

nah we want to encourage more players

people going wtf go buy better stuff , not everyone can

some might only have a cheap flatscreen display or a laptop that wouldn't support it.

or not willing to go browse for a €20 second hand graphics card just to play an online game.

higher res is an advantage too

cant believe you all are too broke to afford a 15 dollar computer. this is disgusting.

    or is it more

"im good at this res, i dont want a reason to try and get better, who likes challenges any ways, then i cant call people newbs and win automatically against those 'pub trash' players"

jesus, stop crying and get with the times. max res increase doesn't mena 30495809 x 18947u3598347983289, it just means it goes up a bit. ffs.

as previously stated, at a bare minimum we need to add widescreen support at least up to 1440x900.
as I use a widescreen I gotta choose between stretched or a allot smaller playing field

It's almost exactly the same amount of pixels. It would be interesting to be able to do this, bit less view up and down, but more to the right.

It looks like it's going to be 2:1 in favor of not increasing it. So if we can't increase the resolution, is there a way to change the aspect ratio so that people with widescreens can be accomdated like Zeebu stated

it would be nice to have a trial period for this...both sides of the argument are pretty good for me, although i lean a little more towards No. i have a 19" widescreen lcd.

have a trial for higher resolution in trenchwars for like 1 week ...and then restart the poll and see what happens.

    Absolutely not.

If you accomodate widescreens, and players with such monitors fancy getting shot by players from vertical angles very easily, and are willing to only fight on a horizontal angle, then it's their choice, but raising normal res will just stop players from playing. What's the point in practicing for ages if someone with a better screen has a massive advantage over you no matter what you do? It'll just promote straying on some levels and it's not what the game's about

As Attacks said, players such as myself have been playing for years with the limited resolution, and that's that. Keep the playing field even, I don't want to get shot by some stupid player that happens to have a huge monitor set up.

I didn't practice for years on 1280x1024 to get out-res'd by a rich kid. Seriously, if people are on a crap resolution now, let them get a good enough monitor to play 1280x1024, there shouldn't be any more reason to up the resolution cap. It should always stay this way.

Amazing, every time I see a half-assed argument somewhere, you seem to share that opinion when I check back a day later or so!

So eventually everyone will play at the same resolution. The pro is that people with newer (widescreen) monitors are playing a less ugly game.

    Excellent point. Excellent Post.
