i'm quite convinced that TWLD and TWLJ are the special olympics of the TW league structure.

GL TopGod, I hope it works out. I think a person can only get better if they want to be. I remember the first elim map and javs were played from time to time. Elim was still a secondary event back then, pub was supreme. I liked playing the jav games and I practiced a bit. I looked up to Scuzzy sureshot and I enjoyed hunting Record Trasher. As far as the guide being helpful, I think it would be very useful in accelerating the pace of a pilot. It would give the person a quick boost and what not but to get to get higher concepts down it requires a feel for it. I guess I could write a lot on all of this stuff, but my favorite topic has to be the "mental" games or close up dodging. Leading people was something I tried working on ever since Scuzzy mentioned it in elim chat one day, I tried hard to lead people into directions I wasnt going and confusing people that day and I liked it. I practiced it a bit and I think I became successful in it. You have a lot of stuff to write about, hope you cover some of the good stuff

Note to Pusher-
I cant help but give my own defense. I never actually willingly posted any pictures of shemales. What I did do, however, is post a satirical picture Ronald McDonald in a sewer drain. As far as the she-male part I have three possible explanations for this. After the warning, I posted the exact same Ronald picture.
1: The pictures I posted were from [edit]some random, nameless site[/edit] 'randomnamelesssite' perhaps switched the image with a less tasteful one to prohibit hotlinking to their website.
2: a moderator changed the picture
3: I was sleepwalking and switched the pictures
I figured I wouldnt bother explaining but while I'm here... I might as well. I dont much care about being banned from the forum, if need be I can get back. Posting pictures of she-males isnt my style however. Just clearing that up

All the more reason to have a guide for ships 3 to 8 included.

you've seen my base lanc'ing. it's pretty vicious.
and while i'm thinking about it... lou, i think you should write a section of the guide on levs, using your past experiences in the old TWL league vs. elusive.

TopGod, what do you say we don't do anything in writing, but bring this idea to the field. How would you feel about a sort of "newbie boot camp", every weekend in TW, hosted by you and me. I think this idea could go far.

Ronald McDonald in a sewer drain looks like a she-male to PUSHER, guess he hasn't been surfing millions of porn sites like the normal people do lately
Long range scanners indicate enemy activity in another quadrant, type ?GO to warp.
For the sake of brevity I'll believe he saw a she-male picture in the post but I'm saying I didnt post it. Either someone changed it or Something awful dislikes hotlinkers.
And on a side note I'm going to DePaul University next year. Anyone else going there?

Haha, my teamkills counted as kills for the team and it helped our TWL rec!
I can't believe levs have been totally banned from all leagues. Sux0rs. I mean, it wouldn't make any sense for javs, but D and B should allow all ships.

$ now that might already work. Not too many players that would learn something but the ones that do would get more out of it.
offtopic:
Epi, gonna do a followup or something to the TW history? Like a diary or something that you can use to make another chapter from when you feel that an epoc has ended? Like the new times now when TW moved to the goddamned states.

few things: For players to adjust to doing new things, takes awhile, especially for the "non-newbie, semi-vet" players. They've (we've) become so used to the way we've been playing its gonna be hard to change. Also, some players purely stick to rushing OR sniping. I try to mix it up myself, but I find rushing is far more easier on newer players. Sniping is far more effective though on better players, even though it takes much more skill.
Anyway, I like the squad thing, but it'd be weird. Like would you recruit ANYONE who wanted to join? Or just pick out a select few where you see potential. I'd like to duel one of you, and see what you think
I'd read the guide... but I've seen players playing for years and still can't master the warbird. Personally, I'd like to be good at squad-dueling rather than elim. Seems squad dueling is a whole lot different then elim, and takes a different "style" of play. With elim, sure I could go 20+ - 10 by rushing newbs all I want, but still it won't help "real skill". In SDs rushing isn't all that effective on better players. They know how to evade and lure into their squad so when you rush, your surrounded by the other squad, and then BOOM your dead. Anyway, GL with making the guide and hopefully I can improve here and there when its done

I need atleast 2-3 'editors'. Two content editors, one who is roughly my level *pokes blood* and someone whos somewhere in the middle in terms of skill. I want this guide to be understandable at lower levels, but still accurate enough so it still applies at higher levels. Also, I'll need someone to go through and fix any typoes/grammar issues etc. Right now I'm writing it in Word, but if anyone wants to convert it into HTML and find some place to host it, let me know as well...
