Or put them both in charge and call it Entension.
You know, opposite of Dis-...
Anyway, on to why I post.
Qan you may or may not remember I told you a while ago about the bot crashing when a goal is scored 'at the wrong time', probably thought it was a fluke or something. I was pretty sure then, and after it happening again today I'm quite certain. This is what happened:
Code:
Team Goal! by H.M.S. Stargazer Reward:196 SCORE: Evens:5 Odds:0 E DBot> Total 1461 RP awarded for goal (avg 146) [...] AUTOSAVE: All players saved to DB in 1ms. [...] The next battle is just beginning . . . Team Goal! by H.M.S. Stargazer Reward:196 SCORE: Evens:6 Odds:0 [Bot gone]
After giving it some more tought, here's how I'd do it. Every player gets an RP multiplier for kills that's by default at 1. At each kill they make, you store their location, and if the location was different from the last kill, the current time/tick (and reset the multiplier if it's below 1). At the start of the kill-RP-calculation, you check if the current location is within a very small radius of the previous location. If so, you check if more than about 5 seconds have passed from the stored time. If so, you subtract 0.1-0.2 from the multiplier, unless it's already at a minimum of around 0.3. If the multiplier is below let's say 0.7, the kill doesn't count towards a streak by default, and if at all possible not towards the Lanc unlock.
Sharks should be exempt because of their play style (unless HMS starts camping when he gets yellow bullets
as well as Terrs since one has to assume that they need to be where they need to be for the greater good. You may also find a reason to increase the multiplier, for example to 1.5 for claiming a flag and 2 for breaking a sector hold, and have it decrease by 0.1 for each kill until it's back to 1.
I could probably write most of the code if you want me to.

. I have thought about lamers wanting to tube mine to get that streak, but with all the ways of getting into base (center, sides, warpspots) i dont think that will be too big of a problem. Thoughts?
