Distension before TWL?

HMS bud, from what I can see, Distension now has several timeslots - take the one on Sunday out entirely. There's no point, you're just alienating alot of old players by even having the CHANCE of TWL fucking up. Now I know waiting months on end for TWL and not having those many fuck ups and delays would be against tradition but come on. Dare I say we might be in a TWL season that ISN'T going to fuck up for a change? That might run smooth, and on time? Do you know how nice that would be, how many people want that? I love RPGs, and I love this game, but Distension is retarded. I see the fun in it, the point, the ups, etc. It just doesn't grab me at all.

To me it seems like, if you don't spend your time hunting down mods to host it, or being there for every last game, you aren't going to get very far. People are spending hours and hours gaining these RP points, and for what? There's no title at the end of it, no website with rankings. Really, no one except for the people inside destension know or care about the acheivments within it. Compare that to TWL. Everybody knows, everybody's there, everybody cares - for the most part. If it weren't for so many people that like distension, and the amount of time that was spent developing it, I'd say scrap it.

However for now that bottom line is really simple. Get. That. Fucking. Distension. Off. My. TWL. Sundays. Nobody cares if 'you PROBABLY won't end up hosting it on those days' - we really don't care, just take away the potential entirely. Scratch it off the timeslot list, give it another slot, whatever. Just get rid of the potential, because I can promise you, some crackhead distension addict WILL get convinced to host it before TWL, and possibly screw shit up.

I don't think ?go tourny and ?go autosb are being given their fair chance at the pie here. I don't even log on when ?go tourny isn't on because the zone is boring and stupid and ?go tourny should be on 24/7 and then I would play 24/7 and the playerbase would go up and the zone would be fixed and screw twl who cares about the reason why this game is here today because I like ?go tourny and I want more ?go tourny right now. I think we need to have a better system for when ?go tourny is able to be hosted, how about instead of weekends only which is unfair because I can't always play on the weekends and need to keep my rating up, we make it 11-3 and 8-11 on monday-thursday, and then have it up 24/7 all weekend, and the same with Auto SB, how about we make that from 3-8pm monday-friday and also up 24/7 weekends.

?go tourny is a really popular event and by not letting it get hosted during the weekdays you are making it really hard to get ranked higher in it and without ?go tourny TW would die, you need us ?go tournians to fix this zone. So if you don't make ?go tourny and ?go autosb more playable for people then we are all going to quit this stupid game because it is the only reason we even play anymore because they are so much fun ok?

HTF, how many dds have you played in the last month? Distension caused a half dozen recycles AFAIK, it sucks you were affected by most of them. However, it isn't something that will occur repeatedly with improvements to the bot. You don't have to worry about the server recycling everyday if it goes 24/7, that would be an issue that would be fixed.

It affected a weekend of dds, something that has also happened this year by the biller going down (2x) for extended periods as well as server lag from hopone and other server issues. It's not just distension, and you're villifying it for something that was an accidental occurance, which happens from time to time. It's not like it causes these problems everytime it runs, or even a majority of times.

That being said, it probably won't be hosted at sensitive times such as TWL. This shouldn't be viewed as a weakness in the bot so much as a preventative measure of safety to ensure that TWL goes well. I don't have the numbers, but I'm sure distension has had hundreds of games hosted thus far, with minimal number of interruptions to TWD. If there have been a higher number of these lately, please do not assert that they are a permanent feature of distension, as historically this has not been the case.

Honestly this was very preventable thou, would you give a child a loaded gun? How many server recycles does it take to realize this shits broke. Distension got added into tw wayyy too quickly and the hosting for 15+ hours it had was an insane amount of pressure for the server. Anyone who has played even 5 mins of distension this last year could have predicted the outcome. But thats not even the most upsetting. Its the fact that you believe it should still be hosted a huge amount of hours and hopefully it wont recycle the server again. Which we all know is a joke because as said already the way to fix it is trial and error. So we (twd players) must screw over our hard earned games because who knows what distension might be doing at x amount of hours played. So until its actually fixed where its causing 0 disturbance to the zone why are we even discussing playing times. It should be back in beta mode in tw dev where it belongs.

This is complete bs. Ive played alot of dds and its easy to tell the difference. Maybe if you have tried a few dds while distension is running you might have more insight on it as well.

Now normally that wouldnt matter, but when you spend a FUCKING HOUR looking for a match, play to round 3 and are 1 kill away from ending the game and THE SERVER RECYCLES. Its a waste. If distension wasnt there the dds wouldnt have taken so long to find, and sure id be a bit upset but 3 dds in 3 days. Not to mention the added lag we get when doing twd during distension. So now if you are a twd squad or a twl squad and you want to practice throughout the week, you are forced to play against even laggier players. This is complete bs and something needs to be done to fix this.

Really? you think the half-dozen server recycles have cancelled anywhere near the # of games that reducing the Distension schedule has? It hasn't. Aside from ruining two of HTF oh-so-important dds, I really don't see nearly as many people getting up-in-arms as I did over say killing the twdd game a few weeks ago for feeding.

Not to mention that the server recycles occasionally other times. Or that you can restart dds. i'm not saying that's ideal, but at least i'm not asking to limit your time.

What you don't seem to understand is that the distension players are doing everything they can to accomodate the TWL players, while the TWL players won't concede an inch, and have the ultimate goal of ruining our game. It's not about the Sunday time slot, it's about the HORRIBLE schedule, and REDUCING the overall playing time. Quit complaining about shit that affects you way less than it's affecting me. That's the sentiment with the distension players.

You honestly do think it is worth it, and you are fighting for the hosting of distension before TWL than you obviously don't care about TWL or Distensions future. Because I guarantee if you do host distension before TWL and the server lags and TWL can't be played, there is going to be hell to pay from the community who has for the most part stayed out of the whole distension drama. Is it worth it for TWL? Is it worth it for Distension, is it honestly worth the risk at all when even one of this games creators said that this zones core values are Publics, TWD, and TWL.. I don't think it is worth even taking the chance. So take your two hours before TWL and move them to some other time, I doubt PL wouldn't care if you made that smart decision without asking his permission first.

I guess if you want to find out exactly how many people play in TWL over Distension, causing server strain before matches is one way to find out. The point it that even die hard distension fans agree with me here, its a stupid time slot, it is too risky before TWL, Before TWL IS a time for twd matches and jav/wbduel and base, and you are only keeping this time to preserve your ego. It makes you look very bad indeed.

Never once did I say that distension is more important than TWL.

I already have stated that if Qans repairs to distension do not work, the time slot will not be hosted. And the prior server lag problems went away within the 1 hour of distension being hosted since he fixed it. So lag wont affect TWL.

And really, do not blame distension for the fact that people would rather play it than TWD. Does it not say something that people WANT to play it rather than TWD? But needless to say if a captain of a squad has issues with a player not attending a TWD match/TWL practice due to distension. That seems like a internal discipline problem, not the fault of distension.

I personally enjoy watching TWL. I would love to see someone get that elusive triple crown(well anyone but quake. but thank god they have no LB ). But I doubt it will happen again this year.

The 2 concerns that people have are:

Lag may affect TWL: I have acknowledged that there may be an issue. I will be here over the next week a lot watching gameplay and how the zone is reacting to Qans 'improvements'.

People want to play TWD: This one is just about tradition. But over the last few years other events are hosted right before TWL. Including non traditional games like zombies, acro, balanceout. No one has seriously complained about those. So I refuse to accept this as a legitimate reason to not host distenson.

I'll be honest, I doubt the timeslot in question will be hosted due to TWL concerns.

But it was scheduled, and posted with Pure_Lucks approval. This schedule will not be changed again(for two weeks), and no distension op can host outside the scheduled times under any circumstances. So with this timeslot taken away, the distension players get fucked over some more and have it taken down to 24 hours a week.

I'm almost certain that it still causes recycles- the only time I ever see that message whilst returning from afk is a time when it has been running. It's not meant to sound biased but there's fairly clear evidence it's the cause.

The server recycled yesterday and Dist hadnt been on all day.

hms only reason u want it there is cuz you've never played any twl in your life and don't understand why its so important, yet its the main reason probably 90% of the vets still log onto this game, so get a clue

REally, it makes no difference to me or anyone else who plays distension if it's hosted before or after TWL. Actually I'd like it to be after so I could actually play it. I didn't even log on Sunday, because I was under the impression that Distension wouldn't be ran on weekends.

You guys have already caused me to miss enough hosted slots, and that's why people are complaining at all-- because they're constantly being cheated of potential time playing distension. It's not a big deal if it's 2 o'clock or 8 o'clock, as long as it's hosted when you guys say it will be.
