A bored 13 year old in 2000 searching for something to do with his spare time because homework sucks, that boy was Dealt, and so the journey began as a internet spaceship warrior fighting for freedom and justice for all- execpt for the ***'s because they suck.
Came across the game myself in late 2008 on CNET.com just looking for some simple, multiplayer game to waste time with at work during the tourist off-season.
I remember saying to myself that I "wouldn't get involved too much with this game" and here I am finally cracked out in the Forums now on a random Tuesday morning. ^-^
OH that reminds me -- I think I have an old Command and Conquer disk that has a large subspace ad in the case somewheres....... Never played it then, obiviously, but just so random to me that I have the original advert to the ancient game I recently found and now play.

When I was in elementary school my friends were talking about this game where they tried to fly spaceships but couldn't fly them properly because they didn't know how to steer. I downloaded SS but it wouldn't play because I had netzero internet and it would turn off my 56k modem if something went into fullscreen mode.
Tinuviel. Met him in some chat room that me and my irl friends used to go on when I was like 15 and he begged me for a year to download SS. One day I gave in, downloaded it, played for 5 minutes and thought that game was so shitty, but I got bored a couple weeks later, opened the game and I've been here ever since.

some friends i played SOE infantry with showed me this when infantry went p2p
Same. Except I think it went pay to play when Sony bought it, I forget who ran it before then.
Damn, I miss Infantry. Yes, I know it still runs and on open servers, but my favourite zone doesn't exist anymore. It's funny how Sony practically killed the game (and Cosmic Rift) by making it pay to play. I remember seeing like 5 people on Cosmic Rift a little while after that point.
