OK...say you have 1 terrier and 1 warbird escorting a levy to either a SAFEBASE or upto the flagroom.

If I fly a warbird, I can be considerable distant and just aim for the levy.... sometimes I can knock out the levy without even worrying about the other ships.

Or the levi could actually dodge the bullet by using it's afterburner... it's not hard to do :/

Ever notice that levis are illiterate? First, they don't notice the PBW announcement when they enter the zone, then when they ask for a safe terr, they ignore the first explanation about PBW, and then once they finally get it, another one asks the same question.


Oh, and Cherub, smart pub sharks mine in a way that their team can tell just by looking that they're theirs. Of course, it's different in other basing games, but in pubs, if you have a decent shark, you can tell which mines are his just by watching him carefully. Of course, sometimes sharks leave enemy mines alone before finding a really good time to rep them. In those cases, a warning would be nice.

Oh, and for those who missed it, there was a heckova good series of basing in pub 6 this afternoon, thanks in part to PBW. It had the intensity of a base match with the raw energy found only in pub. And yes, there were levis, but they felt more like a natural part of the action as opposed to a distracting third party source of interference.

if it is your team? By the mine pattern? Hmm.. more advance players might notice this, but newer players will have no idea.

funny and sometimes annoying at the same time.

He probably is smart, but deliberately types in
UPPERCASE and spells words wrong. I believe this player
uses another name, just uses this one to get rises out of
people and laugh...

you just have to type these words to him, and you'll go
even more crazy...heh..

Then he will go nuts and even be more super annoying to

there was some great basing in death star battle today. probably cause most of the people actually like to base seeing as there are no abusive ships that bomb the walls to make everyone die. or maybe they were having a pure basing weekend too. lol yeah right :/

It's not just a pattern, Cherub, though that's a part of it. It's also how your shark is flying around/near the mines. There are certain positions that he'd go to if he wants to rep them, and others if they were friendly. Of course, it depends on the shark. With newer sharks, you never know where they will go or what they're trying to do.

jerome, you might try asking to be put in, but what i would do if i were you is wait until theres very few people in go base, say around 18, at which point you will almost certainly be put in by default

The thing i find most frustrating about pub, is i play enough to see the same people in pub all the time. and they're always making the same mistakes. and when you try and be nice and helpful, they ignore your suggestions. which inevitably leads to some screw up or another. so you have to spend half your time repeating the same suggestion over and over, and then maybe they listen to you.
Then theres also having a total lack of team support when outnumbered. People tking over and over by "accident", or more likely just because they suck. People doing robot shots in jav, sitting to one side or another, holding down tab with no regard for any team mate trying to defend the entrance. Tking levs. Lts. Suicidal players running into mines. Javs who refuse to watch x, as if they don't have radar. Mines laid horizontally below the flag platform. Terrs who think flying around mid looks fancy so they don't bother securing flagroom. People who help levs, or don't bother to kill enemy levs. People who sit on roof, watching flag battles when they could be in flag actually helping defend or attack. tyestikk. long complicated macro's filled with !!!! and <*(<<<attach to blah immediatly for base terr attachment mother fuckers>>>>)))()R:J*W#&#$^ when the macro could be "attach to blah". People who spend their time leving to get base, when if they actually got in a useful ship, they would have had base long ago.

i guess thats just a big list of what sucks about public arena's.

to peolpe who say ?go base is the solution to people who hate basing with LT's in pubs: you're wrong. if you've played a few games of ?go base you've played them all. pub basing is relaxed, and free form, you can be any ship and you're facing a wider variety of ships. ?go base is one bitch after another for me (you will notice this if u read the public chat as i play). people lag, and it matters here. there are high expectations from other players as well as from yourself. what i hate is the mvp race. sure, winning one is nice and fun but it really makes a stressful game when your standards are as high as mine.

GOOD public basing is much more fun than ?go base for most people. it blows my mind that there should be a ship that selfishly runs around ruining any chance basing ever had and nothing is done about it. it blows my fucking mind. all that it takes for a little good basing to start is a competent terrier that effectively urges his team to attach and help the fight. and all that it takes to ruin it is a lev or two.

what is wrong with you people? isnt it kind of obvious that tw pubs are really weak? once most players evolve into veterans they start to show a contempt for pubs, like pubs are a newbie ground. this isnt they way it has to be.

i really hope something is done about this.. it kind of sucks. we all know what the problem with having pure basing pubs is. everyone who bases would go to the pure basing pubs and the levs would have no one to bomb. lol. someone should make a whole new pure basing no levi/weasel zone or something. ......... what a fucking waste of quality gameplay.

If at least pub players would read...

You forgot to mention something tho (i think), unbalanced teams. You know when there is one team owning the whole base, and no one to attack... I usually switch to the losing freq and messaging the winning to even up the players. If im lucky I get 3, maybe 4 switching players.
