  • More Terr Control

I was thinking more control by the Terrier regarding WHO can attach. Specifically, the ability to tick a teammate and command to prevent them from being able to attach. This gives the Terrier more of a commanding role, selecting out troublemakers on the team.

Base alteration is cool. I like the ideas.

    • honestly i think the easiest step to implement would be to open the flagroom entrance as we tested a couple times in game with mythrandir

it allowed a jav to get more shots into the cram from different angles, and lets the terr get in easier without getting held up

i think the bottom line of this whole discussion is that people want more flagroom fights....

and doing that will enable teams to get into the flagroom easier and create more flag battles

I don't want ONLY flagroom battles (cus that would just be boring), but if it takes 25 minutes to get one chance to get into the fr it is boring. A good setup IMO is: 50% fr battles, 25% defending base and 25 % attacking. If it takes approx 2-3 miutes of fighting in lower before the defending team is in real trouble it would be good.
Actually the best part of basing is not flagroom battles. I like the feeling of getting in to the fr alot more. Breaking a defence that the other team thinks is inpenetrable.

So there has to be a balance between fr battles, defending fr, defending lower, attacking fr and attacking lower. Variation is the key to not-as-boring games.

        • So basicly all i did was remove 1 tile from each side @ the bottom.
It should give more room for spiders/javs to shoot into the cram.

I always thought it was called "trench wars" because of the base entrance.

                Looks pretty trenchy to me.

You have to go up and over it to get in.

similar if you ask me heh

                • An trench is a row dug across a battlefield in which you line up to prevent the opposing side from advancing past. If your side gets pushed back, you build another trench and take your stand there. The result, from an aerial view, is that the field looks like a series of scars running across the surface.

What you are describing as a trench is a gateway, or even a tunnel. You don't so much as "go up and over it to get in", you just get in. It's a siege if nothing else, but surely not trench warfare.

Your diagram is comparing a cross-section of a trench to an overhead view of a gate.

Actually the reg trench diagram is as if you were looking through the trench. (as if you were standing in it, looking down it)

And yes you must go UP and over just like in a regular trench, except it'd be kind of reversed as the attackers are going UP and over instead of over and down.
