Well, if you must hear the "honesty"....

I really didn't have anyone specific in mind, I just thought it might be a good topic. And since I didn't have anyone really in mind, I simply searched though the forums looking for a few names who struck me. So, yes, I guess you "busted" me. I didn't spend time thinking through my own question but simply posted it for general consumption. I do suppose in the back of my mind was that fact that these guys are also less likely to flame me for any reason.

Surely you not saying that I was trying to kiss ass? In the last 5 years, including the COT board, have you ever seen me kiss ass? Have you ever seen me even try for staff of forum staff? So surely this isn't what you are trying to say.

If honesty is important to you, please simply come out and say what you mean.

LOL, 1st, I think you are hyper-sensitive.

2nd I said what I meant, namely 'by putting the forum mods name in your 1st post, you tried to maximize the chance of this thread's survive in this forum and not be moved into Useless Crap'.

3rd Just as an advise, you should careless about what other people think and do whatever you think it is right. I have seen countless examples that someone tried really hard and got really upset when they finally realise that they can not please everyone no matter what they do.

I don't believe you can make a real friend online *shrug*. Maybe I am too conservative, but I won't call someone a real friend unless I know that person in real life for 3 years and more. Even if I know someone for more than 3 years, doesn't make that person a real friend unless we share the basic same value, I know she/he would help me if I need it and I am willing to help when she/he is in trouble.

1st - I am hyper-sensitive by asking for clarification of something that I perceived as a criticism? I didn’t flame you, I simply asked if you were trying to say that I was kissing ass, because that is what it sounded like to me. Note that I didn’t jump on your case, I only asked you to explain your remarks.

2nd – This isn’t what your first post stated, in fact it was just the opposite. Your first post stated, “Oh really? I see the names of a few forum mods, but I am sure that is not because you didn't want this thread to be moved to useless crap.” I reread this several time trying to understand what you were saying. I came to the conclusion that the double negative in your sentence meant that you were implying that I wasn’t choosing them to keep the thread out of Useless. Additionally, your very first remark in the post (“oh really?) sure sounded like sarcasm to me when I read it.

3rd – Thanks for the advice (not advise), I do understand your point about how a person should care less (not careless) about what other people think. Although people like to think that ‘what other people’ think does not matter, it does to all of us. The clothes I wear, I car I drive, how I act, are all predicated and based upon what I believe other people think. Sure, we all like to think we are independent thinking creatures, but the sad truth is that we aren’t willing to let this go. Are any of us willing to go out into public wearing a bright green leisure suit? Who among us is willing to say that what kind of car the drive doesn’t matter at all? Or wouldn’t be embarrassed to admit that we lived in a cardboard house under some bridge?
But, while it is important to me what some people in TW or on these forums think of me, it doesn’t dictate or control me to a large degree. I try to treat all people with a fair amount of respect and consideration and I hope they treat me the same way. If they do not, then I try to move on and not let it bother me. In this particular case, I was surprised at your response since I thought you and I got along fairly well. Hence, the reason I didn’t jump in your face but simply asked you for clarification.
Apparently, it was just a merry mix up and my lack of understanding with what you were trying to say.
