Minor changes to !block'ing in MMR + new !block rules for poor performance.

If I was 61 years old and people used a feature of the game to avoid playing with me, I'd probably start looking for a new game where people actually want to play with me. But you do you.

Hi all,

Sharing some recent changes to MMR, as well as introducing a few performance-based rules for all players to adhere to.

First, the !block <player> command still works. After internal discussions, the threshold for a player to be blocked is 51% (simple majority) of !p'd players. Any player not !p'd with an active !block against another player won't count towards the 51%.

A newly introduced MMR op command added by qan is the !blockamnesty command, which allows staff to temporarily ignore the player !block list for 1 round.

Additionally, MMR ops can once again manually issue a single or multi-round block (this was disabled with the intro of the current player !block command).

With the MMR op block command restored, effective today, MMR ops can start issuing blocks for excessive poor performance in MMRD/J. Before a player receives any blocks for poor performance below, the player will first be *warned by ops.

• 1-10 or 2-10 performance = 1 round block (roughly ~12 minutes)
• 0-10 performance = 2 round block (roughly ~25 minutes)

Finally, the auto !watchnme 7 function has been restored for MMRD/J.

Stop derailing this thread. The game should treat all players equally and not allow harassment and blocking for no reason other than "people don't wanna play with you". That is not a good enough reason to block me when I am by far not the worst player.

Let's not selectively manipulate this frog. For one it doesn't say anywhere that you can be blocked from leagues for not teaming well. For two, I do team and help win games often. I believe I have a higher rating than you in all leagues so must be helping my team better than you and others with lower ratings. Yet they don't get this treatment being blocked constantly.

In particular, read all the clauses about values and staff's obligation to the player base in the sub objectives allowing accessibility to play the game for all personalities, ages, and gender.

Cape did a superb job explaining why the !block command exists right now. Right now, there's no intention to have this feature removed.

Being someone people want to play a match with is an unquantified metric of skill, Jessup.

Everyone respects/wants to play a match with someone who teams, stays alive, gives action (50/50 plays) and is cool when losing or winning.

You suck at teaming, giving action and complaining when losing, so no one wants to play a match with you.

How is this fair? I was in a game unblocked and then it is rerolled, and I am suddenly blocked AFTER I was allowed into lineup. STOP THIS FUCKING TROLL STUFF. It is breaking the terms of service this game has by allowing harassment and exploits. I just won a game too and went 10-9 helping my team win. This is pure bullying and harassment and exploiting the command as I was ALREADY in the lineup.

If you want to zone ban me why not just do that instead of the fake bs staff and players are pulling on me. You are all corrupt bullies who won't let me play a game I played 25 years.

Essentially, as mentioned, the !opamnesty command gives a temporary unblock from the player !block list. Looks like MMRBot considers this to be every time a host uses the command to generate lineups, which "rerolling" wasn't thought about. I'll mention this to qan to see if he has time to come up with a solution.

Whoever works on the bot needs to fix the !block functionality. You can only !block people that are in the arena so some of the frequently blocked people have figured out that if they !p and immediately leave arena, they are unblockable. Should be fixed ASAP as jessup/avantgarde are abusing this exploit
