Basing should be more popular

Quirion is made for Pub players who are interested in Basing and never done it before, its like an introduction squad to the basing scene. There are decent newbies around wich like to learn instead of hop from crap squad to decent and try to get the best they can then move to the best squad they can get and stick with it. You are not a loyal player, I guess that's why you had a comment like this.

introduction squad? trust me, you won't have a good idea of something if you don't have fun and success in it in your first tries... look at how long it took for your players to break into the basing scene... 1 full year, and thats like 2 or 3 players... lappos, itsme, etc....... and they have a very strong mind. Why would i be a loyal player.. and what is your definition of a loyal player? if you mean someone who will never stand up to protect the fun of other players, than you are completly in the wrong way. I was thinking of a group of 4-5 good players creating a squad to train pub players into some kind of decent basers, a little like Azimuth was for warbirds like 2 years ago with Exiled Soul was running it. If you don't want the next generation of basers that fast and you are happy with what you have, then stop whining or just accept the fact that quirion is nothing....
Usually, new basers are people that play other ships (wbs, javs) and go to basing because they are bored of their primary ship and basing consist of more than only one ship.
AND EvERyONE SHOULD BE A PUB PLAYER!

quiron is alrite idea but it only gets real huge newbies on them. Ppl who been basing a few months but dont get accepted to upper squads wont join quirion bc they know they wont win anything. Besides i only seen a few guys who were actualy really good material after being on quirion for some time.

?go base doesn't get adverts because only 16 can play. And base2 is never started b/c it has a tendency to kill ?go base or it more or less sucks. How about doing more often: zone adverts, picking 4 good caps, and starting ?go base and base2. It's been done occasionally but with 4 good caps I think you can probably start 2 decent games, maybe even base and base2 a couple of times.

Like i said, there are a few guys who were on quiron who actualy got noticed and became alrite. Dutch baser, even lappos and a few i cant remember off hand, but in general the idea isnt good bc they usualy always get crushed and that makes ppl tend to not watch them.

I was talkin with Stab about this and came up with an idea..Not a very well thought out idea but I was thinking if we brang back go myth and had go base ads run at the same time. Almost like having two different levels to play at. I don't know how or if this could be done but just shooting an idea out. I think it would bring newer people to basing playing at go base while most others who have played alot will be in myth. And the word will trickle down to people in go base about myth just like it used to in pubs.

Randedl, yes, there is one "practice arena" for base, at least for spiders, which is DSB in my opinion.

Someone mentioned that only Grapevine and ALF were the only dueling squads that play bds and don't give up basing, but hey, common, don't overlook Sk8! Sure we don't bd a lot but that's just because we almost never have enough online, mostly 5 or so, but 5v5 and 6v6 bds are really really boring.

I think its a good idea, and go base will allways have ppl that know how to base, whoever wasnt picked on priv arena or when there isnt a match going on the priv arena. The main point is show ppl that go base exists, if they wanna play, they must watch some games and learn how its done.

If they dont have patience they will never start basing, they will go back to pubs.

About ppl whining about pub sharks, just make a line game. Who cares ? lol. You need to show you are the best every single game ? On go base ? K then, dont play.

Quirion, I played on Quirion for a little while and there is no need to hate. People who are coming from other TW areas; javving, dueling, pubbing, or other zones should join squads like this. It taught me some of the fundamentals of basing, because they at least cared about the games unlike in ?Go base. I've played on Defiancy, RB, Sage, ALF, but i know im not a top shark or anything, but I wouldn't call myself a new member of the community.

?Go myth, i've heard about this, and I always thought it was a good idea. The only downside is that this would reduce the amount of skill being brought to ?go base. The experienced players not picked in #myth would be found joking around in ?Go base, becausese they were the best players. They would put themselves in javs always and not make the games fun for the newbies in ?Go base.

My suggestion, <zh>'s responsible for ?go base should pick captains that they know are responsible, and will make for a good game. For example, dont put iory as captain. These people should know not to put say TelCat or other people notorious for leaving games early in important ships. also, if a game is poor the <zh> or person running the game should come back and !t1/!t2-setcaptain to themselves or someone responsible to put players in their correct ships and take out the people with awful records.

The problem with that is that a lot of the time, no one that knows what they are doing will ask for captain. IoRY may be a shitty cap, but if only he and "azn1317634" ask for cap, I'm going to give it to IoRY.

I think the base/myth idea is good for a trial run, at least. Base advertised 24/7 will bring a lot more people in, and then you can invite the better people from base to play in #myth. People are generally attracted to private arenas (just because they seem exclusive) so I'm sure #myth will be even more popular than it was when it was around the first time.

I think that if they make go base and #myth going this way with advert of go base 24/7 will make base popular but not realistic as in #myth or a bd, well who cares if cap pick himself to jav on go base then ?

Its something like, show a few, ppl will like it and want more :P

Thats basicaly what i said with the usage thing but with less work put into it, which i like i didnt think of this which is the simple thing to think of. I like it, but i think us hould change the arena so everyoen doesnt go to #myth, only ppl who are invited.

Gamma: there are more then them 2 squads who are dueling squad who base. GV is a very goood example, so is alf, but i think you'll see more squads much like Dice (not dueling, but jav squad) be in TWLB, and Venom will be in all 3 leagues. And i wouldnt be supprised if u see -f- coming back, or another dueling squad in LB.
