ok, you guys dont understand anything...
If you bring mythrandir, theres gonna 2 different level of skills.
Mythrandir players to base players: youre not good enough to come here, go back to base you newb. or...
i dont wanna play in base, it makes me look new, ill go wait to mythrandir, at least i can look good...
this wont work and you will kill base and now #mythrandir will become base.
and dont forget that the best way to train players is to get them to play with good players. or they just learn wrong sometimes....

It is true ppl get better faster by playing with/against better ppl, but i dont see how its going to happen. With our current system no one wants to pick "newbies", with the mythrandir thing yes the things u said could happen, but mite not. Ppl mite go to .?go base if #myth is full or already playing. No matter what we do its hard to get a good mix of "vet" and "newbs" playing together. Even pub dont do that.

I talked about bringing usage into base games long before, just look at my forum topics i made. I knew this was the outcome that base would eventually become long ago, right when ?go base took off. Bringing back Myth would definitiely bring some exciting basing back.

Ok... Let me get this straight. Stabwound has a good idea to make it easier for people to get into basing (something more accessible that ?go base) and five pages later the people who already play in ?go base decide that the solution is to make an even more elitist private basing arena. That's some top-class thinking right there. So you shift most of the current ?go basers into #mythrandir, so new basers can't even watch them unless they know about it, and turn ?go base into something even worse than it is now. I can't see how this will lead to more basing squads. Less basing squads perhaps.

The problem is the gap between pub and organised basing, which is where
Stabwound's timed pub idea would fit in.

1st off everyone can watch #myth bc u konw where its at. U can go there but it'll just be harder to get picked.

2ndly with stabwound's idea he was on the rite track but as said on this thread, there are very many things that wont work with that pub idea. 1st off you'd have way to much lag if it was more then probably 10v10 (which would still be laggy). then you have to deal with the "newbies" in pub who wouldnt want to spider/shark/terr. You'd have teams with no sharks or spiders, with just a terr and all wb/javs. You have to remember these are pubs he was talking about. Unless you put a restriction on ship types and all that mumbo jumbo i see multiple problems.

Thats true paul, but if they dont get picked in #myth then they would go to .?go base to try to play. It would atleast keep 2 arenas going instead of just 1 like now.
