The 3vs3 thing was dropped because dev staff started talking about making a separate 3vs3 division/league, which in fact IS going to happen.

It's just kinda annoying that if the poll was in favor of raising the limit you would do it, but even though it's not in favor of it you seem to want to ignore the poll and do it anyway.

Well most people who voted you can tell are their main names and the few you can't you could alias check. Then if their forum names aren't names in the game, pm their forum account to find out who they are. If they don't respond after a couple weeks or so then I guess you could just not count their vote.

Look, if it turns out that it sucks, or barely anyone uses a higher res, it'll be changed back. There is finally framework in place to get hard stats on what resolutions players use in TWD. Looking at pub stats, website stats or anything like that doesn't tell you anything. Also, this isn't in TWL (yet). TWD is a place to test things out. Yes, this was also supposed to be tested in TWDT, but for whatever reason those bots don't log player resolution so it's useless. Besides, this, realistically, isn't going to affect TWL qualifications at all, nor would any other change.

After talking about this with other staff, it finally dawned on me that if you poll players on possible changes nothing will ever happen. There's always a lot talked about but no one ever does it. It's much more effective to make actual changes to test, and then watch the results and reaction. I have 2 good examples. A few years ago MirroriM allowed having 2 terriers in base/bd. It was pretty obviously a universally hated change, and it was reversed. Someone else removed the 2 cram blocks on either side of the flagroom entrance to hinder cramming. People didn't like it at first, but now no one says anything and I'll be most actually prefer it now.

Every single staff member I talked to wanted to and agreed to raise the limits here. I was even on the fence until a few convinced me to just try it.

i think this is a stupid attitude. The fact is this was polled about 2 years ago or maybe more and again it was close to 50/50 the fact this poll is again that close should point to the fact of DONT change it ... if it was now 75% for i'd not mind so much but it's still close so why after 2 years change it ? whats the point ... i think the reasons for keeping it lower are more valid for the community than those complaining they cant max out their monitor :/

this is an old game and should be targeted at those who want to play competitively on a budget laptop or whatever that can run the game... it's appeal should be hey you don't need a fancy monitor to play a 10 year old game. This stats collecting should be more about who uses a lower res not the high res and if a significant proportion use 1024x768 leave it alone.


over the years i've seen far too many staff that are nothing but brown nosers and yes men so it doesn't surprise me one iota that none stand out from the crowd willing to voice their opinion to the contrary ...pointing that out doesn't validate the reason for changing it but why in a poll of 100 ppl where teh result is close to 50:50 isn't there better public opinion on this issue reflected on staff

pressure drop sometimes u have to take risks in 50 50 scenarios. my heart tells me we should try this out and give new people the chance to try out ss on their res since old people been using old res for a long time.
