Zerzera showed some of us the new lancaster ship settings for ?go base.

Sorry Zerzera, I don't like them, the default lancaster settings are fine in my opinion. Why I don't like them? Well the fire rate is too quick, and could mess up the tight areas in base ruining other facets of a base match.

I think ships have a inertia setting right? I wish the lancaster had a bit less inertia, so it can be a tiny bit better for dodging.

1 reason I like the warbird the most it is the most manevurable ship. Terrier is fastest, but its inertia is hard to control or get use to... i can but then it feels weird switching to terrier or wb.

A lancaster is best a taking out spiders from a distance, and of course spiders dominate at close range.

I disagree with you Randedl, the Lancaster is not an obsolete ship. Lancaster can be quite deadly if you know how to boost your bullets by using rock or wall bounces. I might dedicate some of my play time in the near future to prove my point about this; I know words are cheap.

There isn't an actual setting called "inertia"... depending on how fast the ship is going alters how easy it is to push it the opposite way. That and the acceleration? A lanc has slow acceleration compared to a terr and a wb, making it harder to "dodge" and "maneuver" ESPECIALLY if it's at its top speed.

The lancaster as it is in public is a fine ship. When you set no goal other than plucking some attackers out of the air from a safe hiding.
In basing it's a different story. Here you have 8v8 basing, with tuned lineups.
Where in public you might have uneven teams, a bigger difference in skills or players, and unbalanced lineups, it doesn't really matter if a few ships are not into attacking or defending base.

If you want to win a timed game, you will have to pick the best lineup possible.
When you don't have someone that can play another ship than spider, you will have to go for a 5-spider lineup.
When a ship is too weak to match up other ships, you won't use it, and that is what happened with the lancaster.
Some people tried to master the lancaster as a basingship, but when you were fighting equal opponents you would lack the firerate and manoeuvrability, a spider has.
So the lancaster never was a serious option to use in base.
With the invention of the 5-spider lineup and the cram last season, fuck the people who made that popular, most people found basing boring, and so there is a need to make it more rewarding to use other ships than 5 spiders.
With a lancaster that is as strong and -in a team with 4 spiders- maybe even stronger, you create the ability to use another lineup than 5-spider.
        You ate some priest porridge

sorry. When we first started running 5 spids, it was considered an advantage in flag and a disadvantage entering. Sorry. Don't hate us.
