Why Trench Wars Leagues Season 8 Will Suck

You guys are way too long-winded for me. So I will contribute this:

I am a sophomore in college and I appropriate no study time for myself.

Have a 3.9 (my 1 B was by choice, hated the class)

Not changing anything yet.

because TWL and TWD are not the same. At least my squad, Incuria, plays TWD whenever we happen to have neough players online. We rarely schedule games. So to have enough online, we need many players.
TWL on the other hand has games that are scheduled a week in advance. A squad with less than 15 should easily be able to have enuogh attendance at it's games.

Then play base/pub/elim/baseelim/wbduel/whatever else with the rest of the common folk.

play twd when you DO have enough on.

if you need a roster of 40 (your squad is very predominantly european) to get a twd game, you need to adress activity - not increasing your roster size.

come twl are you going to tell people they aren't good enough to play? that you were just using them during twd?

i know you don't care about the leagues you can realistically play with less than 7 people, but alot of this goes on in twdd especially. you will get a huge squad ducking good squads, playing easily won games 24 hours a day, and finishing in a twl spot.

if you want to be on a twl squad, it is time you start acting like a twl squad..

If some players only play 2 hours per week and want to play TWD, why should I not let them. Why should I axe them for inactivity and replace them for someone that plays 20 hours a week? It's a game, and I'm not going to force people to play the insane amount I play just because some other squads are sore that they can't get good players to join their squad.

if they aren't playing anyways, why do they NEED to be on the roster? if i had to, the last seen 10 days ago guys would be gone. i'm actually just too lazy to hit <remove> and leave them a ?message.

because if we win, i want to be on the list of names in the corner of the arena. ive devoted a lot of free time in the past two years to the squad, even though ive always sucked and never technically contributed anything, and currently have a mac so i cant even play. regardless, i think 99% of the guys on the squad would support sharing the arena corner with me, so why cant they do it?

I dunno. I had a really good train of thought going but I lost it, haha! Anyway, we should rename TWL to "The Name-Game" where players compete in fierce competition, and the winner gets their name plastered all over Trench Wars arenas.

I suppose I should add that if you've been in a squad for 2 years, then a name on an arena is just water under the bridge.

do you think if pallies and diso each dropped 10 and 5 respectively, to get down to 30 players each that they'd really make up another huge contender? no... they'd probably makeup an inactive squad of 15 that doesnt really contend for any of the titles and probably forfeits so many games that they'd get kicked out of all leagues instead of joining a lower squad that they didnt like

so why not just let the inactive guys stay on the roster... as i said earlier, when it comes down to it, you still only get 8 guys per squad in LB, 5 in LD/LJ playing each match for each squad.... who's on their bench is their business.

Ur missing the point. These squads mite have some guys to discard to get to the limit, yes, but when it comes to recruiting like Rand said they would be more careful about it. This doesnt go just for pallies and those squads, they were just an example. Instead of squads saying "oh he got some natural talent, or has talent to become elite and recruit them they wouldnt be able too, someone else would. It would stop alot of the RB movements like this past season wh ere there core members basicaly went to the same squad all at once. Squads would have to consider ppl more in depth. I know u (pirates) do that now, but not all do. Im not really saying it would make us have 4 more squads to compete for the title, but i think we'd have a better overall league. I mean squads like melee (example) are just hangin by a thread with activness, where if a few of these guys would go there or trickle down the ladder it would probably help melee be a bertter squad.

You have to remember awesome, ppl who arent "good" enough for a top squad in a certain league mite be a starter for one of the bottom squads. It wont drasticaly increase anything, but i think it would help alot.

I'm not like you in that respect though, guys like Face ARE part of our squad even if he doesn't play, and if we won a title of some kind (I know it'll never happen, but we can dream) there's no reason he shouldn't be part of it because even if he doesn't play, he's part of what holds us together through the slow times. Maybe instead of trying to strip us down, other squads could look at us as an example of how to make a squad last.

And I'm sorry Cig, but mayo isn't starting all 3 leagues for ANY squad. And we're not really the exception that you think we are, we don't have a lot of active talent right now, we barely play any TWD games because we never have the people on. We probably need to recruit more people before the league starts.

I'm not saying we coudln't remove a few of the people that we haven't heard from in 6 months, but the regular posters on our forum who drop in when they can for a TWD game and some chat are part of our team just as much as pearl jam and divine rides, and a bigger part than sleepy weasel.

I oppose any roster limit, but if you must have one, it should be no smaller than 35 people.

He's just saying that if push came to shove, he wouldn't want to be left out. Like beez said above, Face has been a part of our squad for a very long time, he deserves recognition for sticking with us, should recognition ever come.

The whole "name in the arena" thing, from my perspective, was more of an example.

You guys need to take a few hits off the 'calm the fuck down bong'. TWL Season 8 will be fine. The vets that lost in season 7 are licking their wounds. Alot of people are also underestimating the uprising talent.. sure it's shit all right now - but you don't think we get that Pre-TWL buzz as well? Just sit back, relax, and shoot some damn spaceships.
