heres my take
TWLJ
1. -Final- - These guys are stronger than ever in javs. With the pickups of blood and koan, it gives them the javs that they lacked last season to be true competitors. Now they wont be dependant on destroy or drow to keep up with sika and joe.
Lineup: Sika, Domi, Joe, Blood, Koan
Their backups however are of a significant difference in skill. Outside of these 5, I dont think their javs are top notch... sure destroy and aprix can pull a good game out of their ass every once in a while but they arent nearly as consistant as the top 5 and because of that final lacks depth. With that being said, though, as long as 2-3 of the starters show up to most games, they'll most likely win 9/10 regular season games on the intimidation factor.
Standout Player- These guys are DEPENDANT on sika to carry in big games. If sika goes 8-10 and out first, they're done.
2. Venom - Venom to me is STILL lacking a main jav, but I think that that wont matter as the intimidation factor is extremely high. I dont see these guys having the same dominating regular season that final does but we all know how well their javs cope with pressure during the playoffs.
Lineup: Amputate,Rough,Lemon,Fieryfire, deez nuts? Their starting 5 is really good, however I think they need someone to step up and takeover deez's spot for them to have a final's berth clinched. I dont think it will matter that much until the end, though, as I know from experience that playing on their team is extremely easy. When I was on the squad, I rarely got under 1:1 because you cannot believe how much slack amp/rough pickup. Their backups look good on paper, but are definately underacheivers since joining the squad. Phaith/CC wont be nearly as big as anyone thinks and they really need 2d to step up, try again, and take over the 5th jav spot.
Standout Player Amp and Rough will carry 80% of the games. FF is a good jav and Lemons a little overrated in my opinion but none of the javs on their lineup have as much of an influence like amp/rough does.
3. Dice - I put us at number 3 because I think its realisitic. Our lineup is missing merce/ruine from last years shriek but at the same time, mess has picked up his skill GREATLY since last twl and we picked up jargha, who is underrated. I feel we have the most depth out of any squad as we only base and jav, but our a few of our starters might be a little less consistant than the top 2. I still think we can compete for the title but its all dependant on how our starters perform and how the backups pick up the slack.
Lineup: Cape,Mess,Jargha, spawni, hotlavaking Backups(kicker/a2m/century/culex/azurus) our backups can be just as good as 3 out of 5 of our starters and because of this, I feel we can win on any given day despite attendance.
Standout Player- Mess, last year it was the merce/ruine/cape show in shriek.. but mess picked it up significantly and I see him as being on the same level as cape this twl... maybe a little more consistant (take that cape!)
THE FOLLOWING 4 SQUADS ARE PRETTY EVEN SO THIS PART IS EXTREMELY HARD TO PREDICT... 4-7 can be ANY of these squads in ANY order
4. Pallies - Out of all 3 leagues, for some reason I think they're the best shape in javs, probably because thats their most active league. They've lost blood/koan, but their core is still in tact, and when you have a core full of 3-leaguers, you never know what can happen...
Lineup: Hellzno, scuzzy sureshot, lethe, banzi, force of nature, jeem I listed 6 starters because we all know how many games banzi/scuzzy show for. Their starting 5 is definately worthy of competition IF ACTIVE. If not, they'll need their backups to pickup the slack on subs... and pj and sleepy weasel can definately do that given the chance, but I still think they need their starting 5 to show come playoff time to have any shot
Backups(pearljam/sleepyweasel/cylor)
Standout Player- sleepy weasel, heh I know this is like his 3rd league and probably his worst out of the 3, but I kinda have a feeling he'll still have to play alot of twlj because of inactiveness and will probably still carry a few.
5. Pirates - Again, for this team to be successful, they need starters to show... I dont think they have much depth in javs but they definately have a competitive starting 5... lordy will come out of nowhere and come up BIG in twl like he always does.
Lineup: Evasive, Hercules, Pjotter, lordy, legionare backups(kim/exquisite/amorphus/sky)
Standout Player- Evasive was probably the best pickup they had...I kinda felt that Herc had to carry a few games for pirates before they picked up eva... This guy will be consistant and will be the difference maker in a few games this season.
6.Disoblige - Euroblige will be plenty competitive with their starting 5 and probably the second or third most depth out of any squad outside of dice or venom... The loss of Lemon was definately a blow, even if I think he was overrated
Lineup: Da1, desperate, decypha, aim2kill, shadezer Backups(chingy/fruitang/bram/mantra/nailed/poweroflove/yohan)
Standout Player- decypha has picked it up big time since last twl and will mvp a few games this season... everyone knows about da1 and the gang but look for deccy to be the key to their wins
7. sk8 heh these guys seem to always disappoint...sure they picked up a bunch of javs with a good reputation, but these javs havent done anything important last season and I still feel this team is a notch below all the guys I listed above... They'd be so much better at this league if they stopped trying to convince themselves that they're a 3 league squad, quit basing, and focus on their main 2 leagues...
Lineup: Ease/horror/psymorph/download/raples download and psymorph were THE SHOW 2 or 3 twls ago but they did next to nothing last season and since have been inactive... I think sk8 will be dependant on them only to be disappointed
Standout Player- Ease... this guy is what made them competitive last season, and I see him as the only reason they do any good this season.
Rapid and ancients are on the next level followed by spastic and the rest of the crappy basing squads trying to jav (mambo/incuria/whatever)
These are my predictions, let the flamefest beginDice

Oh yea i forgot dva... they'll be aroudn number 4 because everyone outside of the top 3ish is afraid of their lag rushing... merce can carry a team and make it into the same rushing style shriek used last season but his surrounding cast of characters this time around sucks... I dont think genes and lag killer and chance will help at all and the only way they'll beat the better squads is if merce steps up and wins it for them.Dice

My bad, it was all from outside perspective and from recent TWJDs.

i think dva will be pretty solid in javs. with merce, they got enough guys on that team that can play to his style. which is rush the hell out of you. dice will be good in javs too. i think you might have a shriek style in two jav teams, dice and dva.RaCka> how can i get you here
death row> well basically im holdin off cuz i jus joined sweet. so its not u, its me
RaCka> YOU'RE DUMPING ME?!?!?!?
death row> LOL I KNOW I JUS READ THAT LINE AGAIN

though i dont want to bash on them because i like the caps and most of the squad, i dont understand why Rapid is getting so much credit. Arsen is consistent, but is he active? I never thought Golden_Aim was that good, even when he was on us for about 3 1/2 hours. Bure overrates himself, and he seems to like to PM people during matches cuz i guess that compensates for his choking vs. good squads? Steak666 is one of the most underrated javs in the game, so i cant take anything away from him. Soar's lag will prolly make him sit (sorry soar <3). I will never take nemodot seriously, and Piston and Vio are both pretty good javs...but i just cant see them doing any damage in TWL. ---- they did beat us today, but only 1 starter played from us and we still won a round.
if there is anyone i'm hoping to pull through and come out strong its Mambo, with m_m, dragonscale and b.rabbit (very underrated also) pulling the weight, they should be able to surprise a few squads.
magnet is also coming on strong.
and i still think people are looking over us alot, but hey, its all good...people have opinions so i'm not gonna rip predictions but mine will be---
1 Dice
2 Venom
3 -Final-
4 Disoblige
5 Pallies (if they get everyone active)
6 Sk8
7 Pirates (always strong, but never seems to work)
8 Mambo.
but like everyone has said already, 4-8 are open for everyone, lots of close, i jus see us and pallies ahead with experienced players and skill, same with sk8.Last edited by Decypha; 01-07-2005, 11:48 PM.1:Nimrook> On a scale of 1 to 10.. how old do u think Michael Jackson's boyfriend is?
