huh? i never made this thread for any other reason than to point a fact out, if i get flamed for it well whatever, ill give a few jabs back, but still the point remains, its my opinion, albiet maybe some people dont think I deserve an opinion , it still stands

epi i was re-reading your history the other day, can't believe so much history has happened the since 98/99 like all the power players the rivalries and hates that people aren't aware of. Siege/elu is just one big one but people don't realize that TWE / lame / defcon1 was as worse if not more intense on top of other small fires here and there that have made the game interesting.

My take on TW/TWL is that there's nothing fresh out there anymore. No new game-changing events (ie: ww3, dodgeball, zombies .. big events that really drew 200+ players on sundays after league)

No new league format (before season 6..there was ld, dl, pyramid, so everything was changing before setting to TWL)

I remember when the DL was just as important as LD. Another words, in today's terms: TWDD is the same importance as TWLD (reference elusive vs siege season 3)

Basing and Javs used to be new but now its actually more popular than ld imo.

No more huge vet chats (seems like every player has their own chat now with the same recycled players on them)

i think the saddest part though is that go baseelim go elim are virtually empty. Even not too many seasons ago, it was averaging at least 30, a place where everyone goes. now its like a ghost town and seems that jd / dd / bd arenas are whats left.

bottom line, there aren't any more rainmakers of the zone (people who single-handed change the way the game is played) whether through community, events, or league and everyone is just following a set path from the previous TWL's / years of TW. and without building a community, thats what made the game fun and the newer generation of players aren't experiencing it.

you people make me sick, TWL lost its competition? more like TWL lost its competition in LD cause no gives a damn bout that stupid newbie league, more squads are finding LJ and LB more competitive. There are like 7 squads in both lb/lj that can win the title if they pull off some upsets, and have that ability, i dont think you could have squad that back "in the day" when there was just a couple of squads like 2-3 that were good, which is a big problem that is happening in dsb right now. Only 2-3 squads have the best players and its just boring like that. Plus, there are big rivalries still happening in DSB, for example Dice/Pandora. Look how much people are going to come WATCH pandora/dice in LB, i bet around 200. The only people i see whining are "wbs" but w/e, LD is like the special Olympics anyways.

LOL it wasn't an insult, I've known static since 1999. Thing is people keep thinking he's washed up or no good or just invisible, but he really is one of the most consistently good players in the history of the zone. He's just never been the best player at any particular time, but top 5.

I don't really post in forums anymore but I guess this thread deserves some attention..
I think there's a few things we should point out and you can't argue about:

- TW population decreased a lot in the last 2 years.
- TWL has less squads than it had 2 seasons ago even if it was a Staff decision. I dont think we could get 16 squad in each league like we did 2 seasons ago without screwing it up. Gosh, we already have enough squads dropping out with 12.
- Elim/Baseelim is "dead" compared to the good old days.
- New events suck and don't really attract people.
- No new Leagues or improvement made to TWL.

I don't think it's easy or possible to return to our peak of population but I do think a few things can be made. Afterall, we all play this game for several years and I'm pretty sure we'd like to make it more enjoyable.

This game is old but as someone said earlier, it was already old 2 years ago. I just think we need new ideas to come up that really bring fresh meat. After this league staff should focus on a new league idea. We could easily have 2 different leagues, one happening in Winter and one happening in the Summer (different leagues though).
URGENT: Elim and baseelim back together PLEASE. I think EVERYONE agrees with it. Why don't u just make it happen?

As for TWL competition, I do think TWLD level may have dropped a bit but thats cuz players enjoy jav and base a lot more than before. I do agree medium level in both TWLJ and TWLB is higher now than before. Although I have to say that the top squads might not be as good as the top squads before. You can't say that's bad tho cuz it just raises the competition.

That's just my 2 cents.

PS: Static Burn is indeed a top player and unlike most of the top warbirds he can also play other ships.

everyone should be sharing ideas, and staff should be listening to them, its quite obvious that when this game stagnates it loses population

and yes kim led a very uneventful reign with little change as dean.. .which in my opinion is a very very bad thing, this game has had something change almost every year, the last two seemed to be nothing in my opinion

i know riistar is doing some stuff with the twsd system, maybe make that into a viable league who knows? but I think in my opinion that if so little is changing in two years, maybe its time to hire new development staffers...

I believe elim and baseelim can't be combined because roboref is run by PriitK, and no one else has access to Robo Ref except Priitk. And of course PriitK hasn't been around this game forever.
