4 spid limit and 3 rounds-thoughts?

Why do people think no limit will work. Can we set up a practise sometime this week to do no limits so i can get a good team to get cram and then change all my spids to shark for an ez win AND watching 7 sharks rep 3 times and die will be a lot more boring.

I wouldn't be against trying an almost entirely new map for lb next season. People would be forced to invent new tactics, could mean alot of renewed interest from some creative/old school basers.

That tactic would easily fail. lack of spiders allows the other team to easily green a couple of leviathans and bomb the crap outta the fr and go in.

Instead of forcing teams to use wbs lancs javs, why not just improve the other ships so that we actually want to use them? Here's an idea, give wb bullets piercing skill, as in, make it so they go through one player to hit the next. That would be fucking rad! Lanc was improved, but it still sucks against a spider; lanc's still have too slow a recharge rate to ever be used. Perhaps a slight increase in jav recharge rates would help as well.

you've got the wrong mentality going into this. the whole thing with no limits is that it will put teams into situations where they have to figure out the best tactics and the best tactic isn't necessarily cramming for a non-spider heavy lineup. by going into this with a closed mind how do you expect to be open to new ideas and successfully make change? it's people who are blatantly ignorant and stubborn that have been, are currently, and will continue to run this game into the ground. this is whether they're on staff or otherwise. as a game based on a very simple 2d spaceship concept people have to find new ways to enjoy this game and keep things fresh.

Very well said Jeen. Everyone loves the nostalgic value of this game, but let's face it, for it to actually be entertaining, you need to rattle things up now and again. It's a delicate balance to keep.

I've read everyone's arguments and after talking with other staff members, we agreed that no limits could be a very interesting alternative. So once I can get ahold of a bot guy, ?go base is going to be tested with a few different "no limits" scenarios.

im up for allowing teams to do w/e lineup the see fit, im only against spider limit to 4. It will be cool to see if teams use 3 sharks 4 spiders 1 terr or 4 spiders 2 terrs 2 sharks it will be nice to see what squads will do. I think this idea will be best for NEXT SEASON cause it already to late to implement it this season.

read up broseph - we didn't say to immediately implement it into twl, we said we wanted to at least test it first in a ?go base/twbd environment. which mirrorim (anyone else feel awkward typing that?) is all for trying. which makes mirrorim (still weird the second time) open to change and new ideas.

I'd rather be the tony parker of twlb than the steve nash.

That's not my main reason I don't want a 4 spid limit, why would you FORCE squads to play a special ship when there are barely ANY good base birds or javs left in this game. Squads like spastic,dice,bcrew all amazing basing squads that do great using the 5 spider lineup. Now if you make them play a special they go from a threat to any squad to just nothing if they face a domi/necro in a jav. It's like making them play a man down.

by forcing them to play it they'll get better at it, and then there will be more basers who excel at specials
