Staff killing our bds over point feeding? So whats this then?

For all we know it could have been arranged so that Laser started with the bd, and after the game started they could have challenged a squad they knew were desperate for a jd. Maybe they left the game just to create the argument that you are using here, that if they were feeding they would play the entire game out. Everyone can come with theories that shows this and that, but nobody will know, and it's because of that staff just has to go with what it looks like right then and there.

Just to clarify.

Going to address their punishment here, then no more writing for me cuz I've been doing TWL stuff for the last 4 hours straight.

Dice and Heavy were found to be feeding each other. Their games were voided. As punishment, if they had qualified for a TWL spot, they would have been forced to participate in TWDC instead in order to prove themselves worthy of a TWL spot. Dice does not want to participate in TWDC-D and HEAVY was ranked 3rd for TWDC-J and has been moved to 4th place in the line up due to this incident.

Both Dice and Heavy had their games voided, and as extra punishment it was deemed that had Dice made TWLD or Heavy made TWLJ, they would've been forced to play TWD cup, and if they made TWD cup, they would've been bumped down a rank. Of course, dice ignored it by refusing their invitation to TWDCup completely, but the punishment was maintained for Heavy.

In the game between Sage and Laser, from what I can tell, the game was voided. That's it. No further punishments, bans, etc. Also, even if the game Sage had versus Laser had counted, Penetrate who was just barely below everyone at the time was still able to BD 3 or 4 times after they had gone to bed in order to jump ahead of Sage (and Diso I think) in the TWBD ranking, so it would be more unfair to them to take away their spot. Even on disoblige, bram being the European nerd that he is stayed up until the deadline and even got us one DD to insure our TWLD spot since a bunch of squads like Syne started playing games like crazy people.

So if anything, your issue should be about the qualification deadline, which I agree was extremely unfair for Europeans. But like Mirr said, you should've realized that earlier and brought it to TWL staff's attention. Hindsight's a bitch, isn't it.

I just checked disoblige's recent games and it seems like they didn't play a game on the qualifying day, which means that by winning laser we would've been above disoblige on ladder and thus qualified to twlb. So we'll be seeing disoblige vs basingcrew twdc game on sunday, is that correct?

First of all, like Sal said: If anything be mad at staff (like I was) that the deadline was a terrible one for any European-based squad.

Secondly. Mela all you've done in this thread is show that you're an idiot. You admit in this thread you were looking for a squad (with no interest in LB ) to throw you a bd in exchange for three DDs. How can you honestly make us believe you think staff was wrong to cancel your bd after you admit such a ridicilous action?
I know the last day of TWL qualification and especially the last hours, TWD becomes an ugly business. Especially with squads being so close, some squads will start to refuse to play those just below them and squads just not making it will try to play vs as many bad squads as they can for those +5 points that bring them a few places up.
As much as I already frown upon that behaviour, staff can do little about it. However once staff would start accepting squads making ridicilous deals to exchange games (an LD-squad throws a few BDs in exchange for a few DDs from an LB-squad), the whole TWL qualification would've become a big scandal. Do you honestly believe those squads you would've passed with your free win from Laser (or from Syne as you were apparantly hoping on) wouldn't start doing exactly the same thing to get passed you again?

No. Just no. We weren't looking for squads who would be willing to throw us a bd. We were desperately looking for a BD. Any BD. But guess what, no actual bd squad wanted to bd us for the reasons I stated in my previous post. Then havu says in our chat that Syne might be willing to dd IF we fed them points in twdd. Then Sir Chrono apparently having talked with paky dude, says in chat that they aren't sure yet. So now I pm paky dude promising we'd throw them 3 dds after the bd, and yes, I and others made it pretty clear in our chat that we would not dd them after the bd, if I had logs I'd be more than happy to show them to you.

E: And what if I hadn't included that syne discussion in my post? Somebody else might have told that and then I would've looked even more of an idiot than I, apparently, do now.

lol...gosh. I don't know what you expect from either sides to do in this situation. One dearly needs to get into TWLB, the other wants to keep the integrity of qualifications up. Regardless of how it looks, getting points from a squad that never plays the league seems pretty cheap. But at the same time, when there is no other option, what are they supposed to do? Accept their current situation. This is the biggest problem with twd qualifications and why it worries me every season when we go through it.

I could be wrong on the dates, but I'm pretty damn sure the timing issue was questioned by at least ONE euro with enough time to consider it.

Yes you are completely correct. Don't bother showing up to the TWDCup this Sunday, because you won't have to play.

No but really, you assume that after winning 20 or 30 some points against Laser in one TWBD, all TWBD games will cease and your TWLB spot becomes solidified. Have you never thought that, hey, maybe Disoblige could play Laser in a BD too! And even better, since Diso's already qualified for LJ, we can agree to JD Laser after our bd! And in order to make it look legit, we won't even throw either of the games; instead we'll just try not so hard! I must be a genius to have thought of this! Fantastic!

Have some faith bud, she's been good so far. I really don't see how anyone could argue what I've said, if they took the time to read it all. This is simple, are we going to let staff make these sort of judgement calls and open the door to favortism, and ruin the game? I'm pretty sure enough people would argue against that.

I was not here for the Laser vs Sage incident, but I believe Plob made the right call. I dont think there was any sort of favortism involved. Feeding, or "feeding" has always been a problem for TWL. We did our best this season to resolve it, but now we fall into a tricky grey area. I believe that more people would be upset if we did allow Sage to gain the points. It's up to everyone's different perspective.

Should we create a rule that 24 hours prior to the deadline, similar incidents like these are okay, but within 24 hours, the games will be voided? I was not here for the Laser vs Sage incident, but I believe Plob made the right call. I dont think there was any sort of favortism involved. Feeding, or "feeding" has always been a problem for TWL. We did our best this season to resolve it, but now we fall into a tricky grey area. I believe that more people would be upset if we did allow Sage to gain the points. It's up to everyone's different perspective.

I'm not asking for the points or anything, i'm fine with playing the cup. If we can't beat a few squads there, what's the point going to twl? I just hope that in the future the line that the moderators have to cross in order to kill games, especially during times the points matter (TWL anyone?), will be much more thought through before put in action.

I think at least there should be a mandatory games played for a squad you face in the last 24-48 hours to count as a game. This would at least ensure that whichever squad you face has a direct consequence in losing that game. Perhaps the mandatory amount of games should be the same number (50) that you need to actually make for twl. I think this would work simply because you wouldn't want to "feed" in danger of losing your own spot.

While I am a great fan of watching the last day mad scramble for points and qualification, it does provide unnecessary complications. People get desperate and feeding occurs. I have always favored the induced paranoia idea, meaning you tell squads "TWL qualifications will be closing @ midnight EST on some day this week." And dont tell them which day, just choose and close, no bias. Hell roll some dice or draw from a hat if you want complete randomness. The paranoia of squads near the edge would be priceless.
