Riistar, I am quite thankful that you have done all the work you have done! Over the last 4 weeks you have helped me and guided me, corrected my numerous fuckups, and you made it so this TWL season could actually be completed. And we also made you, push through the site before it was finished against your warnings. If anything, the public should be mad at the TWL ops. I thank you and Flabby both.

Why yes, I was in ?go tryouts for some elite pub squad many years ago. But Delectable was in there recruiting for his squad -DREAM-!

I'll be honest with you, Flab and i did our best after finding that there was no point in salvaging the old TWL site (broken code and structure, along with security issues like TWD's which we found out later) so we were faced with writing it all from scratch again.

We dove in to it head strong and did as much as we could in our free time putting aside other things we were doing. I personally stopped playing TW completely for (5?) months and even worked on the website from my job (unknowingly to my bosses, they thought it was their site) to try get as much done as possible and fix issues that arose...

Now even though Flab and I started out strong our determination and motivation diminished as TWL went on... Mainly cos we got shat on for trying to salavge and build the site into something usable. I even got so fed up with those that bitched for the sake of bitching (and not helping in anyway shape for form) that I had a few rants on this forum.

Sure ppl liked what we had on the old site, but truth was half the shit didn't work on that unmaintained site. The only admin part of it that worked was adding rounds and games... And for the players you had On the Move and Game/player profiles...

Im not super human, i did try...
I seriously spent 80% of my day/time working on that site and its backend stuff to get it working as much as possible...
Not many it would seem appreciated the fact that we were working on making it as best as we possibly could (proberly because they don't know or understand how much time and effort HTML/CSS/PHP/Database stuff can take to get things right) and how much of our time we dedicated to it.

Id nominate an award to the Flabby for dropping his other projects (RE: SubSpace2) to help me and the shitloads of work that he did while i had to deal with other zone issues also.

But to get to the point, the aholes that complained only made things worse as it really demoralised those working towards making TWL work (including OPs, i don't envy Mirrorrim and the sexist shit she had to deal with or anyone as Head TWL op for that matter). I'll agree that the site isn't done/is half arsed but i think we achived alot from the time when TWL started until now. And player feedback on things we developed as we went helped alot in fine tuning things as best we could...

Now we have to get the motivation back and work on finishing and improving it for next season so there is everything that people want.
And that there is more linkage to various pages/results etc...

So that next time round we don't have to put up with the various things that happened this season...

Thank you to those that gave a crap and actually gave decent feedback and suggestions etc for the site rather than post "FuCk yOUr W3BsITE Iz SH1T IT DuNn HAVE ON DA MOVE..." etc over and over. And thank you to those that helped myself and Flabby in anyway...

Namely Ardour for stepping up and bringing back TWLM/and running it!
And Arobas+ who's done some great work in his short amount of time working on the Websites.

Being staff in this game is a thankless job, you and I both know this. But you are right, people shouldn't be so bitchy about some of this stuff, especially the website. I didn't even have to look at the code for the last TWL website and I knew it was fucked up. You did what you could to get the site to where it is now I'm sure and I bet by the time next season rolls around you'll have all or most of the features working. People in this game bitch about stuff all the time (some of it rightfully so) but this case just isn't one.

As a suggestion for down the road, when you do a player search it would be nice if you could click on their name and see all the games they played in that season (or even better, allow the user to pick which season) and see how they did on each game to get the kills and deaths they have.

As a side note, I ran TWD for a year and people that haven't run TWL, staff or TWD don't understand the time and work it takes to keep these things afloat. I don't agree with everything Mirror did this season but I'd still consider it pretty well run all things considered.

Despite lacking some functions from the last twl site I think that this years TWL site actually looked 10x better, it had a professional feel to it not just with the way it functioned but in the way it looked.

i'm basing this on nothing, because i'm in charge of nothing really. but with the population of the game the way it is, i think we're better off having the next one start sooner rather than later. just my opinion, obviously
