no, that doesn't make sense, its the other way around. lag limits hinder people with cheap connections, they don't help them. would you expect CAL league to impose hardware restrictions because some people insist on playing online games with a laptop, especially if such restrictions degrade the quality of league play?

Everything Poseidon said is spot on, coming from someone who played when the game didn't have a res restriction.

When strays and rushes from off screen are eliminated from the game it becomes less about lucky situations for your kills and almost all about skill. Even yesterday I kept track of how many of my deaths came from actual skill or crap that could be avoided by having a larger res to see strays flying from off screen or people lag rushing onto the screen to try and suicide vulch which seems to be the new cool thing to do and it was about 50% luck to skill in what I died too.

you could probably get a $30 monitor on craigslist, hook it up to your laptop w/ a keyboard. doesnt take a lot really

Can get a pretty nice monitor to hook up to your laptop for $150-$225. I have a laptop and hook up my monitor to it when I'm at my desk, and just unhook it if I want or need to use it somewhere other than on my desk. I can also play xbox 360 on it so the it's been a pretty good investment. If you can afford this, I'd recommend doing it.

Or maybe it's due to the velocity of the bullet being greater and with smaller res allowing for deaths caused by luck and not skill. Not sure, your idea and mine are pretty close to 50/50.

SSCU Stoneage Wars - Have a big monitor? Sucks to be you. There are other zones for you to play with no resolution limit! And guess what, they're more competetive! :fear:

In my opinion the resolution limit should be at least 1680x1050 / 1600x1200. I don't care if you warbirds want the resolution limit to stay low so you can have a greater chance to get a lucky stray, but please raise the resolution limits in basing and javelin arenas.

Part of the appeal of this game is that even with a shitty fucking computer and little to no internet access you can still play it and be on a level footing with everyone else.

I happen to have a nice comp and a nice monitor and still don't want this just for the fact that some things are better left unchanged. Plenty of people are going to get fucked hard by this. Every game is going to turn into a Apok vs Burnt match.

The only league this really matters in is warbirds, and it is mainly basers and javelins crying about it. How many times are we going to let a bunch of basers fuck up the game off of a silly whim. LT's, PurePub, twbd, ?go base are all examples of basers thinking they know whats best for the zone and having them end up rotting away in failure. Basers are the liberals of TW, they are greedy and don't understand big picture thinking in the game. That is why they whine and cry for things they want changed and generally get it when it won't be a good decision for the zone, simply to make their subspace lives easier.
