I agree that the cap should be raised to 1600x1200 in ALL leagues. I can't even play on a lower reso in any kind of enjoyable fashion, which is why I don't play TW anymore. I would start playing Trench Wars again if the current cap was raised, and I am sure there are other people who would do the same.

There should be a vote, one for each of the three leagues, with only people who play that particular league and matter in that league being able to vote in it, so we make three threads and people post for or against basically.Rabble Rabble Rabble

When strays and rushes from off screen are eliminated from the game it becomes less about lucky situations for your kills and almost all about skill. Even yesterday I kept track of how many of my deaths came from actual skill or crap that could be avoided by having a larger res to see strays flying from off screen or people lag rushing onto the screen to try and suicide vulch which seems to be the new cool thing to do and it was about 50% luck to skill in what I died too.

Yea i'm 1 of those people who cant get higher resolution than the current and i'm not against it for that reason. But im guessing removing the limit is as bad as the remove block idea in base.
I've played enough wb to know it, so..
We should stop removing things and start adding, like 3 rockets/death in jds or super+shields in sd (???). It changes the gameplay so why not.. I never understood why things have to change just because some ppl dont like them.
I dont see any problems with the current reslimits, its just 1 zone, if you dont like it stop playing it. I'd rather play with 10 ppl in this zone than play with all those changes that are coming up2:Chief Utsav> dwop scale 1-stayon how mad r u atm

Honestly, the solution of 1600x1200 resolution limit should be implemented. The current top level competition in TWLD relies on teamstray to slowly pick off the more careless or impatient team. What kind of skill is that? This dying zone needs a new influx of strategy, and a higher resolution (but not over the top like 1920 x 1080 etc) would suffice in eliminating this dependancy on teamstraying people out by giving them more time to dodge radar shots, forcing people to actually learn new strategies of outplaying the other team. The whole zone will fill once more with a fresh new desire and necessity to evolve the playing style, if one is to maintain their top performance.
Huh? Higher res means people will just play at even farther distances? Uh, what ? You do realize that higher res doesn't make radar scope increase, right? If people were already radaring with the teamstray concept, that is already the limit at which you can logically aim at a player (unless res exceeds radar scope), and thus the battles cannot go any further than that. And no, 1600x1200 is still lower than radar view range, so the ONLY thing this higher resolution would do is force people to get creative with their strategies of killing the other team.
You don't have to take my word for it, just use your head. Or, try it out. Implement 1600x1200 in a simple casual teamplay arena like wbduel and it can be tested between top players. Scared too many people will commit suicide over wbduel having a testing phase like elimbeta? Then at least just raise the limit in wbduel2 and leave it the same in wbduel. That won't kill anybody; if results prove successful as I have predicted, one arena in TWD can be made to have that res limit for those who are willing to experiment with it. Afterwards, based on success with that, more competitive arenas can convert (or not). This is the only way to get things to move forward in this zone, and help prevent playoffs from just being a matter of who's more patient that particular weekend, hence the last 6 seasons having 4 of them in TWLD be upsets.Trench Wars' # 1 Solo WB

I've noticed a couple things being argued in this thread that I'd like to put to rest.
First of all there are strays in LD, and I'm not talking about someone on your radar, that's an aimed shot. I'm talking about a bullet that hits you and there's nobody on your radar. Bullets only last for so long before they disappear so they can't be too far from within your radar distance but they can be off your radar, in which case they were blind-firing or firing at someone else and it hit you. Either way it's a stray because it wasn't intended and there was no skill involved in attaining the kill.
Now, there's two ways to minimize these skill-less kills. One would be to increase the resolution limit as people have suggested. This would certainly solve the issue, because now you would have to rely on your dodging skills in order to survive, just like you do in a mid-range fight or a radar fight.
The other would be to decrease the time of the life of a bullet, I'm pretty sure you can do this. You could essentially decrease it by about 2-3 seconds (just a ballpark figure) and that would only allow bullets to kill people if they were within radar-aiming distance.
Personally I'd rather see the life-time of a bullet reduced, but if the resolution limit was raised I wouldn't really be opposed to it.1:Best> lol why is everyone mad that roiwerk got a big dick stickin out his underwear, it's really attractive :P

I'm with reaver/poseidon/sirius here.
Either no cap or something like 1600ish should be good. Bigger is better.
I'm a sniper/mid player and even I think the res limit should be upped a bit.
We've had the 1280 long enough, lets try something different
