This is a good idea, if I could add a suggestion, one that I would like for my own squad members:
A Basing Manual for each ship
Something that takes 10-20 minutes to read, showing spids to you know, shoot 2-3 bullets at a time, how to cover under, cram, line, not to shoot sharks in mid, when to push, a few useful shots, etc. then you can refer guys who want to base to this manual. At least the concepts with a manual are ingrained so they can see what is really going on while basing, what they should be trying to do, and why they are losing so badly.
We have guys that claim to have been "sharking for years" and yet don't alternate in cram or time anything and mine at the worst times.
There is a layer of complexity and symbiotic relationship between ship-types absent from playing TWDD that seems obvious to people who base, but isn't to the rest of TW.
