separating twlb from twld/twlj seems like the best option atm. could [...] do a draft for twlb.

Everyone I've talked to so far says the same thing. Just had a meeting with Turban and M_M God, posting our tentative proposal in a forum post right now.

We're going to put up a forum thread, zoner it, and hold a TWLB meeting to discuss it and the future of the league.

It's important to get feedback from the basers quickly as it will take some bot/website work on zreq/turban's end, and scheduling a draft and finding 6 captains who people want to play for and will pick well.

Say I would like to play twlb so much that I would hop at will. I have 4 options.. or 5????? Prayer Dudgeon Burn and Lego. HM: Vikings (sry not that active so don't see you guys much). I can A. Go to Prayer, get continually stomped by spids/teams that arn't that great. Go to Burn, play with good sharks and have a chance at making a difference. Go to Dudgeon for no reason. Go to Lego and steal a spot from one of their basers. Theres not stacking going on.. the ppl consider elite simply arn't playing through retirement or inactivity on squads that don't base. I'll showup if u allow potenza into twlb with 0 twbd games played, whats the worst that could happen .

I for one will only join a squad with active captains. Theres a lot of squads who say they get no "elite basers" but if you check thier recent games and activity, it looks like they dont even make an effort to play basing

Why would anyone join vikings or cobra for example, when they don't even base?

We have ONLY not based because we don't have basers, only takes 3 or 4 to jd/dd so our roster has stayed smaller due to that, which in turn means we struggle to have 7-8 on at one time....and if we went and recruited a load more wbs and javs just so we would have enough online to try to bd, we would have in fact done more zonal damage by stacking so many wbs and javs on to 1 squad unnecessarily, and taking away what could possibly be more dd and jd squads, or more depth in other teams.

as a status update, we should get the burst tests underway soon if everything goes as planned.

we will announce our plans about the proposed tier-limit system, along with the roster limits, on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Ogron is going to be running and managing the basing league this season while I will cover the other two leagues. Undercut was originally meant to run this season, but shit hit the fan in that regard.

It's a common misconception that you can never use "(people/person) and me". In the subject position, it's a good rule. "Me is going to the store" and "Dad and me are going to the store" aren't right. But in the object position, I becomes me. "The store was given to me"/"The store was given to Dad and me" vs "The store was given to I"/"The store was given to Dad and I". We may have been trained in such a way that "In the garage, unspeakable acts occurred between Dad and I" sounds quite proper and correct, but it's not. It's wrong. And no amount of showering will ever change that.




All that aside, pretty interesting set of changes. Obviously a fair bit of thought has been put into this. Looking forward to seeing the results.

additionally we are removing the burst greens from basing, but in return we will prize the terriers a burst every minute to compensate. this will add some strategic value to the ship and will eliminate some of the remaining luck factors from the game, thus balancing the competition and making it more competitive in return. there is nothing more frustrating than playing against a team that gets lucky with several burst greens within a short period of time, or for your team to never get bursts while the opposing terr gets everything -- there is essentially no counterplay against that right now, and that is why we are doing this change.

This is truly a brilliant idea. Terrier burst is the cheapest & most skilless aspect of basing. Probably 95% of burst deaths are unplanned and are very hard to avoid, which reduces too many FR battles to a lottery. I would probably go even further and limit bursts to once every 3 minutes. And I would reduce burst damage to lanc-bullet level.
