This is truly a brilliant idea. Terrier burst is the cheapest & most skilless aspect of basing. Probably 95% of burst deaths are unplanned and are very hard to avoid, which reduces too many FR battles to a lottery. I would probably go even further and limit bursts to once every 3 minutes. And I would reduce burst damage to lanc-bullet level.

You should talk to your squadmates, they've been at the forefront of killing the idea. I doubt it will happen, anyway. I've resigned from TWL/TWDT/Staff, and Turban is working towards finding a replacement for himself as well.

the way you're talking it seems like we trench warriors deserve some lame staff who will quit the second they don't get their way but the way you're acting that is already what we got so i'm assuming whatever staff we get next can only be an improvement good day sir

I can only speak for myself, but unfortunately the lack of time is the main reason for me.

I simply will not have the ability to commit enough time on Sundays to ensure that everything running smoothly, thus we need to find a replacement who is capable enough to do the job of a main TWL operator, such as ensuring that the games are being played with hosts in each game, making proper on the fly decisions if problems were to arise, dealing with appeals and so on. I will be around the first week to set up everything for the league, including a likely qualification tournament for the last seed(s) in TWLJ and TWLD during pre-season.

Luckily both the system and structure are in place, as are all the tools required to run the league smoothly, so we only need someone who is willing to do the job of a main TWL operator.

I'm not sure why Ogron spilled the beans about me as my reason is very different from his, but there you have it.

So now that the TWL-staff has quit I suppose we are getting rid of all the changes that they were planning to make and go with same rules as last season?
Also now that Turban has gone inactive I think we need to find a new SysOp to replace him?

the league structure we designed for this season will stay. there is absolutely no point to run the old format with the season lasting 4 months, all while running during the holiday seasons meaning two necessary breaks -- Thanksgiving Weekend and Christmas holidays.

there hasn't been any major rule changes unless you want to go two seasons back in time.

@ morg: we were planning on having a qualification tournament for the last seeded teams if the TWDD and TWJD ladders were close. as an example, say we have four teams within 50 rating of each other. the chances are that some of the teams were fed free points by other teams to help them qualify -- we would get rid of that "get to the league for free" card and force that team to actually prove their worth in a qualification match.

If just 2 top players arent available that weekend, the squad is screwed eventhough they played for long.
