I said "You should talk to your squadmates, they've been at the forefront of killing the idea." I wasn't grouping you. The biggest proponents against modifying bursts have been Dudgeon players.

And I felt like we had the mandate to make changes, the majority of TWLB starters I spoke to outside of Dudgeon were for either the draft or the revised non-draft proposal. It's always people who are against something who speak up the loudest and create a warped distortion of public opinion.

I didn't agree with Turban's decision, but to me the last straw was just all the people who I talked to supporting the idea or at least okay with it didn't speak up, didn't post on forums, didn't show up to the meeting, while there's 12 Dudgeon players in there fighting tooth and nail to keep their free title and avoid losing any competitive edge.


I generally like or am apathetic to most Dudgeon players. I really like Mikkiz, Omega's cool, I've played with Dreamwin/Mcvicar, me and JAMAL talk about NBA all the time, I get along well with you, I think Stayon's a nice guy most of the time (sometimes he can be a cunt, like when he dissolved Sage mid-TWL or Dice's world record setting propensity for refusing to cancel bds when you don't have enough over the last 5 years.)

That doesn't change the fact TWLB needed an overhaul to keep fun, competitive gaming on Sundays, and selfish people on Dudgeon killed it, and then selfish people not on Dudgeon decided taking 2 minutes to write something in support was too much effort.

That makes me want to contribute 0 time and effort, so I resigned. It's not about getting my way, it's just the combined venomous attitude of those against it along with the general apathy from the rest. People want to treat it like it's a regular game run by a company, when it's a player-run game entirely dependent on the community, yet contribute nothing. No one is willing to sacrifice time/effort/slight competitive advantage for the health of the league, so why should I?

As a player, I like playing competitive high-level basing matches, and the thoughts of a shitty imbalanced league sounds awful. If my squad is really good or really terrible, being on either end of 15-3 matches is boring and not fun.

It's not really about you or Dudgeon. If Pandora core had all the active good basers and the shoe were on the other foot, I have no doubt they would be fighting tooth and nail to maintain their advantage as well.

Either proposal would have been better for the league than doing nothing. I'll show up Sundays and play, but my interest has declined significantly, and I've just resigned myself to the idea this game is dead and the community will never come together to squeeze a few good years out of it with new rules/ideas.
