Someone sounds bitter. I'm curious to see your specific examples of ineptitude by the Ops. I certainly remember hearing a lot more yelling and screaming during Crome's TWL. I haven't read many complaints on the forums regarding this season, except about the slow start. Which is actually a good thing. I'd rather TWL seasons be spaced far apart or winning loses its value. TWD can and did fill in the void.

For a specific example of Crome's poor TWL, I recall two TWL postponements during Saturdays (one for lag and one for database down). Those announcements then changed into matches proceeding if possible because the problems were not as bad as expected.

No point whining about it, this leagues OP's got the "if we said/made something wrong, we won't change it since our image will look bad" mentality.. I don't really care that much, so be it, it's not like it's going to be changed (bring back memories of old Nazi germany)..

At least they're doing a decent job running the league, so a blunder here and there isn't really that big of a deal..

POiD, you're not helping your stance at all by any of your statements you've made so far.

"As many people have expressed"? Who? All I see is you bitching, and every once in a while, someone complaining about how a call doesn't go their way. And you're always going to have people complaining about a call if it doesn't go the exact way they want it to.

If "people" really think that there's a problem, express it. But express it in a way that's not just "this sucks." That doesn't help anyone. The league's going on right now, and it's all fresh in our minds, so it shouldn't be too hard to ennumerate exactly what "sucks" about the league.

I'd love to quote someone in game that summed up the true feelings of many, but he'd probably get in trouble with staff.. so I'll just paraphrase for him. "POiD is a whiny bitch.".

I think this TWL is going great (sorry if this is off topic)
I can't compare last TWL season to this one because I did not even start playing ss until after last season ended. If you ask me my favorite category is TWLB which in my mind is the only conference that really has some competetive teams aside from Burning Rose , British Squad and No Surrender (I dont mean to stir up any trouble so don't take this personal). My point is that this TWL is a success , what rule said, everyone is getting involved with TWLM , u got tons of people making predictions so yeah its a success. Someone like me who's squad did not make TWL is probably more excited then someone thats in leagues.

I've only been in a few seasons.. 3 I think.. maybe 4, I don't remember, but this is by far the best one I've seen so far, I don't know what the crying is about.

Overall its been a pretty good season thus far. People complain for 3 reasons:

1. They are ignorant and just dont know any better or just love attacking those in charge
2. Somethign about the current format or rules screwed them or their squad over in some way
3. They believe they could do a better job themselves

Usually its a combination, eg for me its usually #2 and #3

The thing is, this season has been relatively smooth because we have bots hosting it all, not staff and there was more time put into the initial setup b4 it started, hence a big reason why it started late. Ideally all league Ops should have to do is setup all the rules b4 the season, allocate squads, and make a schedule. Once all that is done the first time, nothing else needs to be done if it works. But there are always loop holes and unexpected problems so we have a couple ppl that are responsible for making fair decisions -shrugs-. Personally I think its very easy to run a decent league if you have the proper support from all areas. In past seasons the support from: players, staff, bots etc... has been lacking at times and coupled with some bad league formats and questionable decisions it wreaked havoc now and again. Epi and Pusher have bots that do a good if not great job of hosting, a huge enthusiastic player base that creates things like TWML and the benefit of years of mistakes from former league Ops to work with. With all that of course TWL should be the best ever. Not that Epi and Pusher dont deserve credit, i think they have done a fine job. They got dealt a great hand and they played it

TWL has indeed been postponed when an european country
has had a national holiday, last time I can remember was
Finland having its Independence day. Though when this
happened one of the league OPs was Disqualifier if I can remember right.. he was finnish.

I agree with da1's opinion, we do not have enough euros on
our beloved staff. We have now set minimum amounts
of events and league games for every host (was about time,
the last time TW Staff was this sloppy with hosting normal events
was before Left_Eye's time. ), we should also
set minimum amounts of hosts for each timezone.

For example:

10 ERs for US/West (-7 ? GMT),
10 for US/East (-5 GMT),
10 for Britain (GMT)
10 for Sweden/Finland (+1 & +2 GMT)

We've never had too many Asian refs either.

Pusha did try to recruit a bit more euros but maybe with a lil
too slow pace. Though it's never wrong to first examine and
consider the choices very carefully. (btw congrats, Connection,
for the ER tag.)

This can not be done in a few weeks so I'd recommend then give 2 postpone possibilities for each squad like
Stupid-Gerbz, Poid and Sudden suggested and by doing so
letting us know that Poid was wrong about you, dear TWL Ops,
and we'd have no problems.

It would be wise to set a official rule concerning the special
events which may allow TWL to be postponed.
For example only on Christmas and New Year's eve, with
intelligent structuring of the Staff this could be possible.


In my opinion Poid is quite wrong about this season being a joke,
this TWL has indeed been a success.

Maybe the reason there's fewer euro staff is because there's fewer euro players.

and I hate the idea of the other squad being able to postpone our matches. someone said it worked in another zone, but did that zone have 3 events each week? Sounds like a disaster to me, with a lot of make-up games at the end of the season, or extra matches each weekend.

I'd rather everyone be on the same week so that rankings mean something.
