I'm glad you guys have won so many twdd's, but you cant really talk unless you pull off wins against 5 starters, not just 5 random players from the squads. I cant think of many squads that only twdd when they have 5 starters around.... except solstice.

tw is expanding and the overall level of play is rising in TW

with a big thanks to myth and his bots for the TWD and the staff that looks after TWD, the skill level in TW is on the rise


that being said....

i think TWL can handle 16 teams....

the problem is captains that can handle squads.....a very daunting task...... the other problem is with the age in TW there is a lot of immaturity and fighting comes out of stupid little arguments that cause major rifts in squads....

i look at basing as i know players there far better then duel players....
there is a ton of decent quality basers right now that are not on TWL squads....whether by choice, or because they prefer not to sit on the bench on a TWL Squads....or for whatever reason

with the publicization of ?go base and the duel bots and the jav bots.... there is far more people basing and duelling which increases the demand for higher levels of competition

i think that with the next season you will find that having 16 teams in any of the leagues will be fine

one last thing

there is a misconception, especially among the upper echelon players that in order to be in TWL you have to be capable of winning a championship.....

this is ludicrous... take hockey or baseball or soccer (football either kind) the more teams there is the wider spread the talent pool.....

a few years ago, if there was only 6 or 8 teams per league....it would be some intense competition for sure.... but with 16 now... lots of teams simply want to grow and develop to become competitive....

i dont expect WA to walk in and take TWL by storm..... we would sure love to win a few games and will put out some strong efforts...but our guys know that the journey is the fun.... and trying our best to be competitive is what counts....

some days we will be very good....some days we will be off and get owned.... but if we stick together and have some fun doing it thats whats important

and hey...

if we find ourselves in a position some season to make playoffs....then thats all the sweeter.... but for now we are just happy to be able to compete with the upper echelon of TW

so theres some interesting food for thought.....lol

i knew that the "i told you so's" would be rolling in and congrats Lain you won the race. i guess its deserved though, just remember that we are a squad of 30+ and the opinions of one do not always extend to all.

Solstice has beaten the best squads in TW's and certainly for a fairly new squad. I mean squads like Melee, Pallies, Dragonguard, British Squad, No Surrender, Cripples, and so on are nothin to us. We want to duel rampage, elusive, shriek, and ummm *scratches head* other good squads...

Aside from what Stylez said, I do not believe Pallies to be an easy squad to deal with, even in twdd. I give Pallies props with their squad.

I'm not even sure where Stylez got his ideas; we haven't played Pallies in a long time, not sure if he was around when we did.

so hellz ur teling me u'd rather play the current #1 TWJD squad (terrify when we layed them) over us....we didnt try adn we beat them 50-20's...its sad to say they play alot to get #1 and they practice alot, but why do u want someone like them in TWL who will get rolled over very ez over a squad like Cripples who can put up a good fight even when we dont try...u arent gonna get hwoever many squads are in TWL all elite like Rampage and them, ur always gonna have them lower tier squads who are just on the boundry and can pull of upsets...and every TWL squad who got replaced this year..there replacements (with exception to BR in base) havent done exactly to well, and ur all forgetting what EPI said of squads disbaning after TWL is over...i heard quite a few MITE be...and some were in all 3 leagues...fersay 3 squads disbann there is 3 open spots in all 3 leagues...u wouldnt havta drop much but 1 team from each then taht is 4 new spots...u dont wanna add TO many TWD squads to fast, it will result in "elite" squads being made fast and dissolving 1/4 way through twl...WAIT till TWL is over and then see how many disbann then decide how many to drop out, this is a BAD time to even bring a topic like this is up, we got all offseason to determine this stuff, no need to rush into it and ax0r like 5-6 squads from each league...tehr will be squads who disbann and tehre will be squads who mite wanna drop out

i dont think it would be as close as playing you guys, but i do think that they deserve the chance more if they practice all week for it. I'm not saying these squads that practice 24/7 are amazing, but you have to admire/respect their enthusiasm. I mean look at me, the last twbd i played in was months ago, and ive been in less than 20 dd/jd combined in the past month or so. Thank god the rerst of my squaddies keep practicing tho. Does this mean that the replacement squads are better than us, no. But im gonna give them all the props they deserve for trying to get better and better.

If Burning Rose would get dropped out of TWLB we'd have a very hard time getting back into. You want squads like Virus Core solstice and alpha squad to be in TWLB instead of us? One match a week isnt enough to cover these squads milking points from newbies. Argument that you should drop squads to keep league competetive is b/s because TWL will only end up with more unstable squads and matches will be more one sided for the old squads. If we started out in TWLB with 0-0 instead of 0-4 or 0-5 we probably wouldnt have to worry now. In TWLJ perhaps we should get dropped because we havent done so well and we started with 0-0 so its more fair to get dropped out there.

just to adress the actual point of this topic, or something close to it. . .

everybody is talking of dropping a few squads and making it a 14 team league or whatnot. i think the player pool has enough skill to support a 16 team league, i just don't know if there are 16 people out there who can actually lead a twl squad.

i challenge some of you players who have been around long enough, who are that damn good, to not take the easy road to a twl championship, why not put something back into the leagues and try leading a squad.

the level of competition would go up across all 3 leagues, and thus, the gap between the "good" and the "bad" wouldn't be nearly as much as it is right now.

If all the TWL dropouts play one match a week against a shitty team that milks nubbers, they'll be easy enough to overcome. I think you underestimate your ability to get it together.
