hmmm, who else are you referring to besides sirius? i think only 3 sols players have ever posted on the boards. and splatz (1 of the 3) very rarely. personally i post alot when im at work, just because posting on these boards is more fun than accounting.

many of us are fairly new to the zone and still alot more excited and interested in it then i think alot of the people who have been here for years are, but i think obsessive is a little much. in defense of sirius, who is one person im sure you are targetting here, he spent quite some time building up this squad and ever since it started winning games it has been under constant attack from many different people for many different reasons...imo he should care a little less what people say or think, but i dont have the time invested that he does, nor do we have the same personality...so live and let live.

I see kids still cling to the 'HE KNWE ALL ABOUT DA DAOUBLE SQUADDA ARRRRR' conspiracy. Solstice has had the opportunity to emply and deploy far better league strength double squadders than some trash like Independence, some of which would suffice for almost everyone on the squad; yet I've never allowed it, and probably never will. To think that on the other hand, I would have known that some flimsy player I subbed in was a double squadder (mind you, if that was the case, he wouldn't have been on the squad long enough to have the opportunity to be subbed into that round), and I actually let him play knowing any smod + can easily check anyone's macid/ip during/after the round is simply obsurd.

By the way...here's a simple example. Someone once notified me (my gratitude to that individual) that a basing clown I had on the squad [Chronicbob] was triple squadding. The following day when I had time, I asked Ward (buddy ER of mine) to tell me who could verify this. I was then forwarded to Cpt.Guano! (Cpt.Guano! can tell you this is all a true story) about it, and I asked him to check Chronicbob for multiple aliases and their squads. Indeed it turned out Chronicbob was on 2 other squads, same ones I was told he was on. He was then promptly removed from roster and squad by me, and never allowed on again. Mind you, this was concerning basing, something we weren't even in leagues for, and I could have ignored it all in all and the chances of anyone finding out would have been pretty slim. So to think I took action then and ignored it in a serious league issue such as this is again, obsurd.

To stand your ground, or defend yourself or anything that stands under your name (whether offline or online is irrelevant; your name is your name) is to have pride. I don't know about some of these people, but from the 'careless' values they flaunt I would figure them to be the insecure socially incompetent ones who don't know what pride is nor have much to account for. Or perhaps you don't even have what it takes to defend your views or values. It's alright, perhaps one day in life you'll experience the other side of the coin.

There was a double-squadder on your team. Staff found the double-squadder and took the appropriate action, which was stated in the league rules. Why does it require multiple manifestos to explain?

Sirius, you (and your squad) are going to take a little public heat for this. It's not anything new. People like to twist the knife a little when something blatant goes down. Just because you "could've had a better double-squadder" than Independence doesn't make the situation any more or less right. I really don't understand why you'd even go down that road. You're not exactly helping your case, there.

I've been on the verge of locking this thread for a while, but I thought I'd let nature take it's course and let it die a natural death. Please, let this drop--there just isn't anything to discuss about it anymore. It's a boring and pedantic argument anyway, and one that doesn't necessarily need any more discussion here.

Sirius. you've trashed Independence repeatedly throughout this thread. Now honestely, from what I've read it seems that the guy didn't even know he was double-squadding. So please tell me what kind of squad captain takes to completely flaming his own squad member because of a simple mistake? If I were ever on a squad where the captain pulled that kind of crap, I would leave in a heartbeat no matter how good the squad was.

And where do you get this crap about, "we would've been better off if Independence hadn't played at all."? Let's look at it this way, you'd be playing 5v4, the equivalent of a game of 5v5 with one man going 0-10. But you had 5v5 and one man go 3-10. Last time I checked, 3-10 was a better record than 0-10. That's just been something thats been bugging me, I don't doubt that you could've won without him, but to say that he hurt the team more than help during the match is a straight out lie. (Obviously he did more hurt than help after the fact)

I know that that is completely off topic from the beginning of the thread. But then again, by this point almost none of the posts are.

i really do think that despite horribly improper presentation, this situation does point out a really valid argument. and that's the fact that captains are really taking blind chances on anyone they recruit, no matter how talented/untalented or popular/unpopular they are. if these current rules are going to stay in effect next season as-is, then captains need free access to check for double-squadding themselves. if captains aren't allowed that right, then the rules need to be modified to lighten the punishment for squads who had no idea they were harboring a double-squadder.

once again, this would be a good idea to discuss for next season rule amendments. just because this happened to a non-playoff squad doesn't make this situation any less urgent. this could happen to any squad no matter how tedious the captains are in their recruitment policies.

If this continues to be an issue up until next season, im definetely going to quadruple squad just to see how many ppl still feel that a rule is a rule. Any1 with a few ip's, a lil imagination and some luck, any1 could get away with it and tarnish a dozen or more games b4 any1 caught on. In fact i think ill use 2 female names as well just to draw more attention to myself. Again, i dont disagree with the rules, just wondering how it would be dealt with and how many players do a 180 when its their squad that gets screwed. Ill probably forget tho, so ill make a sticky on it and post it on my bulletin board

Epi, u know the best way to stop abusers is to think of every possible way a player could screw the system and then make a policy to counter it. It seems to work for the government come tax season

I don't think it's all that big a deal... I've never seen that Independence guy around, ever. I'd assume he was kind of a sketchy character, based on his dumb noun name. I know, I'm a hypocrite, but still. Just know your recruits better, and I can't imagine any squad having too many problems.
