Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but was Mr. Luck invoking this:

Immediately following the game's announcement, Squad Captains or an appointed representative have 10 minutes to submit a valid line- up to the referee. An additional 5 minutes may be requested if a squad is experiencing difficulty gathering eligible players. Referees may give some leeway but are expected to start games on time to ensure that the league is run smoothly and fairly.

I agree with RR, subjective interpretations of the rules should be reduced wherever possible. Saying things like “approximately” is lame, the cut off time is the cut off time. (Now before people jump in and write this post off as bitching, I am only speaking about moving forward, I support letting the existing ‘call’ stand in the Mambo-Spastic game.)

The lower staff should rarely be in a position to make subjective calls, they should only be enforcing clear and concise rules, not interpreting them. Many of the staff issues and virtually all of the bitching arises from staff being forced to make subjective calls. ‘Hiding’, ‘teaming’, ‘approximately 10 minutes’, ‘lag’ ... the Rules are packed full of subjective interpretations.

Since it’s not right to bitch about things without offering solutions, I am willing to volunteer my time in assisting folks with writing proper procedures and removing as much of the subjective matter as possible. I have a fair amount of background in this kind of non-subjective writing (corporate policy and procedural manuals such as Employee Handbooks, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Manufacturing Procedures, Operational Procedures, and Quality ISO Documentation), if anyone wants my help simply contact me.

Vert, they had their 10 minutes + extra 5 minutes already to submit their lineup, and they only got d/c twice, so enough time to do so, the fact is they didnt. They lagged before the game, we lagged in the game, tough luck but we lost 4 terrs because of that. And still they complain about us not going to base and then they pull a cripples and do like 10 ?cheater's on me..talk about sportmanship. Bad spastic :/

My feeling about the game was that it was hosed from the beginning. Without a doubt the Spastic lineup was not submitted in time due to them lagging out. A very long period of time passed before a ruling could be rendered.
The Bot was also hosed completely up and this was noted before game started. Once the game was under way, Mambo’s terrier repeatedly lagged out and we couldn’t get it replaced due to Bot malfunctioning.
At this point the game should have been canceled and rescheduled, but all involved agreed to play another game. The lag was an impact, the Bot was marginal, the playing of this game right behind the first game was a problem. Spastic won this second game, end of story.

Fair? Is this a valid question? We all agree to play in a game where there are known subjective rule interpretations. This is like Olympic Diving or Gymnastics and then we bitch about the Russian judge. The problem isn’t the judging, we can all predict that many decisions will be questioned as unfair. Yet we all continue to play in the leagues, and events like Elim. We should understand that our choices are:
            - to quit playing in areas where subjective rules exist
            - change the subjective rules
I don’t know that bitching about them really achieves anything productive. (Note...I'm not saying that anyone is bitching)

the truth is you guys didnt attack base,we were down 50k and no one was attacking,if we had lost would you still be posting this?
if 4 of our terrs lagged out we would probably do the same and stop attacking but still we had to say something cuz it seemed like we were gonna lose due to that and the rules say you must attack so...

i wouldnt mind a rematch of the 1st round.

no, but if you had lost you'd be posting it instead.

I didn't watch the game, but someone said something about their terrier lagging out. Now refusing to attack without a terrier is a whole different issue than refusing to attack with a terrier.

Someone needs to come up with a really bright solution to this refusing-to-attack-when-we-might-lose problem though, because lately we've been experiencing a whole lot of tight games. Like the Elu vs Diso second round, or the Diso vs Cami game earlier this season.

There is one. Base games should be determined by how long u hold the flag. Points should be totally irrelevant. With time based system there is absolutely no reason to hold back in any case.

If you expect a replay because you had half your team lag out, then you'd better grant one to whiterabbits in their game vs Burning Rose. They didn't get a replay and that loss put you guys in the playoffs.
