I thought it was a good note about the Pallies vs Disoblige reg season match, what you should try to do is make sure all the top teams play each other, but all near the end (if not the last week) of the season so the season really feels like your climbing towards the playoffs.

First of all I would like to appologize for leaving you all in the dark for a bit at the start there... We have been busy setting up the foundations for Season 7 and I did not want to have any rumors floating around before I made an official announcement.

That being said, I would like you to all welcome and congratulate Pure_Luck to TWL Staff. He will be a full fledged League Operator and an equal to Acid. Now to address concerns raised by several of you:

Returning TWL Squads: As you may have noticed from the revised rules, we have decided to only allow the playoff squads from Season 6 to be granted automatic admission to Season 7. This change is outlined in Rule 2.02.

The TWL Start Date: Even though I have a date set for when I would like TWL Season 7 to start, I would like to keep it unknown to the public until more of the necessary work has been done. This is so that I can more or less guarantee that the start of the next season will not be delayed.

Resetting TWD: Because replacement TWL squads will be taken from TWD rankings, TWD will have to be reset at some point prior to the start of TWL. Rest assured, there will be plenty of time to wake your squads from any sort of inactiveness that they may have slipped into during the off season.

Changes in TWLB: The rules concerning TWLB have not yet been set by us. We have several ideas for changes and such but we would like to see how BWC plays out first before deciding on anything.

Lag Checking: I will be working on a way to incorporate automatic lag checking into the bots. This will include ping, packetloss (C2S, S2C and S2C Weapons), and spike. After I create the necessary modules for the bot, I will define the lag limits.

Double Squadding: Double squadding will be checked by the website and / or bot. It will reference a database that has been created to ensure that players will not be in violation of the double squadding rules. This way, Captains will no longer need to track down an Smod to see if a squad member is double squadding.

If you all have any other questions or concerns regarding TWL Season 7, please post them here and I will do my best to answer them.

May I add I will be reinvited to staff to take over TWL, FU Cpt for missing that out.

i haven't been around for the last few days, few things seemed to have happened. . .

i however do see a problem (whether it's realistic or just asking for troubles) in having the 3 ops from 1 squad. especially when that squad only focusses on 1 league and has the most to lose (assumedly) from the cram being taken away, or whatever.

i'm not saying they will be biased, but even if they aren't yer still looking for problems.

k, didn't see guano left cuz i didn't bother to read the whole thread til after i posted. this said, i will still (and this IT CAN STILL BE) argue(d) that he has "ties" to spastic. . .

that's the last i'll say of that.

on a side note, please don't have a 16 team league comprised of 15 new squads. melee's safe in javs and birds and it's not really an issue of us making base so i'm not arguing for that.

but looking at some of the leadership of the top twd squads at the moment, i find it hard to believe that many of them will last. pallies/diso/melee (don't think i'm missing anybody) are the only 3 league squads (barring my squad making it back into basing)that would be around from last season. add in the name changing "super squads" and you have 6 or 7. next you get the squads with the most intimidating names and worst leadership.

we saw last twl how many starting and replacement squads we had to cycle through. . . burning rose, focus, inferno, dragonguard, DASHsolsticeDASH, camisade, paladen, shriek etc. . . the list is most likely longer.

with the effect of these squads dropping out equally the replacement squad being all but crippled, and the fact that different squads in the same conference will be unequal (shriek in twlj compared to mambo), the standings are brutally effected.

fact of the matter is, at 4-6 melee shouldn't have made the playoffs (let alone as the 3rd seed in the conference) last season. not cuz we suck, but cuz i don't expect any 4-6 squad to make the playoffs.

this said, the entire of season 7 will be a complete waste if if we get to a situation where squads benefit from others dissolving to a point that the playoffs and such are effected.

i would personally prefer to see a squad like cripples last through twl than a squad like shriek fold during the season.

i'm not defending cripples from last season, if you guys don't show to games that's your fault, if you don't take it seriously, that's yer fault. but i think your leadership is strong enough to keep a decent squad going throughout the season, if not i would like to assume you wouldn't bother starting the season.

then again, maybe it will work as is now, or maybe we should just let the top 16 twd squads in and forget about playoffs.

it's alot of work to lead a squad in twl, and i think that the people who want to captain a squad into the next one need to take this into account. i know they won't, but maybe that's a job for the ops to pick up instead.

cuz siriusly. you won't be getting the best 16 teams, you will be getting the lucky twd squads that happen to be in their prime at the precise second that twl seeds are picked, and most likely they will have dissolved shortly thereafter.

Rand, there's not really much you can do about squads dropping out of TWL unless you and some pals plan to split and found five or six separate squads and assure "lasting league play." However, I do agree that squads entering leagues should have some credibility.

Instead of the criteria for being league eligible being set at a minimum of 10 games in whatever league a squad is aiming for, I suggest it be bumped to 40, or perhaps even 50, thus preventing an Immolate/Inferno/Faded incident like we had last season.

That might help the ensure some "lasting" competition.

Edit: This criteria might be different for basing, since it's harder to have that many basing games in however long qualification for TWL is (six to eight weeks?).
