I wasn't really talking about my own squad since I don't think we'll have a problem re-qualifying. I just don't like the idea of blanketly inviting 8-10 squads from a ladder and expecting them all to be stable while shutting out proven squads. Epi summed up it pretty well.

squads change in the offseason? ya look at cripz roster (i talk about cripz bc i konw how they are) we arent doin to bad and we are stable enough to make it through a whole season. i think what the main arguement is that the squads who are made to win that get high in TWD once they start losing in TWL they will die and u'll have a ton of replacement squads instead of the NS/bs/crips who never die midseason. i know cripz went to big lengths to get more skill and activness for TWL dunno if NS/BS did or not but i see BS playing alot of games. Grant there are a few squads on the TWD ladder who are active and we konw can last, but then u got them iffy squads who mite not be more competative then ns/bs and we dont know if they'll last, hell <Giants> were in top 10 in TWJD b4 i dunno bout u but i dont want <giants> in TWL bc they play 200 more games then neone else bc they have like 100 members. Regardless if u invite everyone back, drop 1-2 ppl from each, or make everyone requalify ur still gonna have ur top Tier squads (diso,pallies,melee,"enter elite squad here") and then ur lower tier squads, u wont have 15 top notch squads no matter how much u want it, not enuff talent to be spread around most talent flocks to the same group of squads. but like i said b4 if the decision is requalify then we'll requalify no use in argueing against something that wont change.

Stability? Does it matter if I'm rolling over some team I've never heard of or some team I'll care about? Beating the stuffing out of British Squad in basing has about the same appeal as playing some new squad. Except that the new squad has some promise.

How does it reduce the tendancy to stay with some up-coming squad? By giving them a chance to get into leagues? Cutting the shitty squads makes room for more good new squads.

I've said the same thing in a bunch of different ways, but let me sum up with the best one that this argument always ends with. "Any squad who deserves to be in leagues can requalify."

and a squad like camisade really helped the stability of twl last season.

i'd say to you, shut up as well, i really don't know who you are so i'm not going to get into a big "you haven't led a twl squad so u don't know the effort that has to go into it" lecture (or maybe i just did), but when a captain screws over his squad cuz one of them got on staff, it just goes to show how instable some of those squads are.

there will be plenty of spots for new squads to requalify, don't worry about that, twl will have good competition. with old squads staying around then they will (hypothetically) pick up better players before the season starts and increase in skill while staying stable.

personally, i'm all for seeing a squad around like no surrender and having them play all 3 leagues as opposed to a squad like shriek (it was annul's fault, i know). better that every squad in the conference plays the same shitty squad than half of them play a powerhouse and then the other half play a replacement squad.

the goal of twl should be to have no replacement squads, it's just the simplest idea to a bad problem that in the end just makes things easy for the league ops, not for the players.

let me sum it up a different way for you: "sure, any squad that deserves to be in the leagues can requalify, but at the same time, squads that don't deserve to be in the leagues can qualify as well"

and as an afterthought,

no offence to cid, he knows i love him, but calling him a wb/jav would be like calling me a baser.

he may be one on spastic, but that don't mean he's adept at staying in contact with those specific communities. elim rank means very little, but cid (the wb/jav) has a combined record of 17-26 in the 2 elims? barring an alias with a 2000-500 record, doesn't seem very interested. . .

epi = advisor, guano = squadless but ex-spastic, pure/cid = both on spastic and the assumed " specialists" for the 3 leagues?

brit squad was -->granted<-- a spot in twlb 2 seasons ago as a replacement squad, they didn't have to go through twd to earn a spot. the same was true for a couple others, but they might've dissolved by now. . . that's the difference.

Who do you suggest is a suitable candidate for running leagues then Rand? I certainly do not see anyone both qualified AND suitable for the job as well as having perfect credentials and a good attitude. Suggest away.

I think I'm enough of a valid candidate for TWL considering I ran it last season with no problems, and considering as the reigning TWL-D champion, and TWL-J finalist (and season 5 champion) I guarnatee that I know how those leagues work. Cpt is referring to me on the specifics of those leagues and I think it will work out good.

Shit squads like NS and such shouldnt be in league.. Waiting weeks to play a squad that either cant put enough ppl in or cant compete what so ever really ruins the fun..

also gives them guys on ur roster that play 1 twlj/twld game a season a chance to play..like i said before and rand said now ther will be enuff room for the competative squads to get in even if no one requalified
