Basing died when cram was invented. Lining required a LOT of teamwork/skill on the support ships (basically, everything non-spider). sharks/terrs/javs/wbs all made much more of a difference back then than they do now. What i mean is that the difference between a "good" and a "great" player was MUCH more noticeable back when people still lined as opposed to now, when everyone crams. Terrs just sit there and burst every once in a while. Sharks time their reps and take turns dying. Javs have nothing to do. wbs are more or less the same, but still.

Back to the point i was trying to make: lining > cram. Sure, you rack up more points and die less and you win with it. But, as a trade off, it requires less skill. How does that make sense? In order to achieve the same results with lining, the teamwork/individual skill has to be much higher than if you were to cram. If you dont believe me, take some "old school" basers and make them cram and they'll be fine with it. Then take some "new school" basers and make them line and they'll fuck it up. What does this mean, though? Those with higher skill make it noticeable everywhere they play. They don't rely on cramming to make them better, so to say. They will generally be more deadly in lower and fight better in flagroom.

Take me up on what im saying, please. Have an old school squad like diso play spastic with both sides cramming in one game, and then lining in another game.

back 50 years ago it also took alot more effort to build a bridge than it does now, does it make sense? of course it does, people continually look for ways to achieve the same goal with less effort.

LY: last i checked it was harder to come up with something than it was to improve on someone elses idea. Besides, please prove me wrong. I want to see some of the newer squads beat the old school squads using old school tactics.
