TW Mafia: Still Worthy

Yeah I don't see anything about everybody being a superhero in the writeup. There are plenty of normal people in the Marvel universe that aren't superheroes. Interesting that Jessup seems quite sure that all scum are super heroes.

It is a pickle though I find myself in with this role.
Hypothetical: Lets pretend youre a town cop. Lets also pretend there are no modifiers and every result you get is legit, even though you dont know that. You see your role and you think 'wow, I'm super important for town!' and it gets you excited, so you tell town to trust and follow you, because you're this super important role that could possibly make or break the game. Town thinks you're full of shit, but you keep on saying how important you are, hoping the town believes you. You go so far as to constantly bring it up, doing absolutely nothing else, hoping that town will magically listen to you through force of will, while sun will magically not notice any of it.
Rhetorical questions: What information could you possibly have on Day 1 that's worth alerting scum to your role? What makes you think you'll ever get a result, instead of being roleblocked in perpetuity? What makes you think its a good idea to be telling scum how important your role is on Day 1 before youve ever even had a chance to use it? Why would you ever do any of this on Day 1?
Hypothetical: Lets pretend it's Day 1, and you are scum. You want to find town PRs while tricking them into believing you're a cop or some other important town role. You claim you're this super important role on Day 1, even though that's literally the worst thing a town cop could do at this stage in the game. You hope town follows you while also being literal dumbasses and giving you their role info with a mass claim. Your constant begging for town to follow you also has the intention to excuse you from scum hunting at all and hopefully allows you to be completely useless for as long as possible as you constantly try to get town to do stupid shit so town can lose faster.
Rhetorical questions: Does either hypothetical sound good for town? Why would you ever do anything listed in the hypothetical if you were town?

We aren't acting superior in our mafia skills, you acting inferior is what gives you that perspective.

Also, if Jessup turns out innocent that would be the next target + he most likely has 1/2 of his fellow scum on the list.

Name/role claiming so early and for no reason is an anti-town play. It just provides scum with more information than they start with, and they can use that information to concoct better fake claims.
It seems to me that players who resort to this do it because of the low-information nature of day 1. That's just how it is, we are not expected to figure out who the scum are on day 1. But we are expected to learn about what each player is trying to do and go from there.
Having said that, I do not think ixt is scum. Claiming is just something he does, and using it to form a read on him is quite scummy. But since kthx hasn't played with ixt yet, I'll give him a pass.
Jessup, on the other hand, should have dropped it by now after others explained that we stand to gain no information by name claiming. Only scum do. But I feel like ixt/Jessup are townies being railroaded by scum under the pretense that they're the easiest d1 vote.

I seriously doubt willby would give scum fake claims when everyone already is a superhero, both scum and town.

of? None. Absolutely none.
I say that we take out ixt or Jessup. I am in either way. Exalt makes a fair point that if Jessup is town, she will not be nightkilled, and we will be dealing with her dumbass shit all game. I have a better feeling about ixt being scum than I do Jessup at the moment.
