Coming from proabably the biggest Kyuss/QotSA fan in the southern hemisphere these are some albums I've been interested in of late:

There's a Las Vegas band called The Killers who I just recently heard about and like what I hear so far. They have a new album called Hot Fuss.

I bought Killing Joke - the album, two weeks back and can't stop listening to it. Dave Grohl does drums on it and I'm pretty sure the vocalist is the same guy that did Shake your blood in Dave's Probot side project. It may appear weird at first but it becomes addictive after the second listen.

The Killers are quite big over here and I presume in the states, and I think they've got a little feud going on with the Stills, I'm not sure what for but its possibly a case of handbags at ten paces over who's more arty.

Update on The Screaming Trees: A bit too Tom Petty/"one man and his guitar" for me, also the same goes for Mark Lanegan's new one Bubblegum which I listened too in a record shop today. I'm about to order Sunny Day Real Estate without listening to any of their stuff though, just because I heard Nate Mendel used to be in them; I'm putting my faith in you Nate, don't let me down!

        Get your hearing checked.

And what songs did you listen to anyways?

Rise Against and The Lawrence Arms DO NOT sound like Dillenger Escape Plan.

And good lord man, do you think I haven't heard of Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Less Than Jake or the Suicide Machines? I don't like ska though. I have seen LTJ (didn't really like them) and the Dropkicks in concert. Best band I've seen play by far was Rancid.

Less than Jake is stupid Pop-Ska.

Listen to the Specials, Toasters, the Slackers, or anything by Judge Dredd.

If you want to think about it that way, I'm sure there are many more bands that can be summed up like that. Chances are, I'm sure you listen to some of those bands. Maybe if you took the time to listen to the bands you'd notice the differences, but since it's coming from me and you don't seem to like me, you'd rather ignore what I have to say.
