That's a good point. Punk was big enough in America's late 70's/early 80's to actually get a movie made starring the Ramones in Rock n Roll High School.

I wouldn't say it was "huge", but it was definitely a popular subcultural movement.

Did The Ramones release an album 2004?

I thought the Anthology-discs from '99 were the newest.

Also from America, another great punk band, The Dead Kennedys. They were also a big part of the movement, and they were around longer than the Sex Pistols ever were.

Prodigy - Always Outnumbered never outgunned. (hands down)
Chemical Brothers - Push the Button (2005 actually)
In Flames - Soundtrack to your Escape

Would be hard for the Ramones to release more albums since Joey Ramone is dead (RIP). I don't think anyone here can say that The Clash, The Sex Pistols, especially The Ramones, The Misfits, and a host of other late 70s early 80s punk bands didn't make the genre what it is today. Maybe Green Day brought it to MTV and made it pop but what kind of an accomplishment is that? They should be drawn and quartered for having punk music played before an episode of Newlyweds: Retard and Douchebag.

Still one of my all time favorite bands. Jello Biafra is a bright fucking guy.

Well, Dee Dee died in the late 80's of a Drug O.D. Johnny died recently and Joey died a few years ago, so yeah, all thats left is the drummer Tommy. Also, the drummer that replaced Tommy Ramone, Marky Bell is still alive.
