If you want to get really technical, that's like REALLY technical, America is the whole of what lies there, from Canada to way down there brazil and paraguay etc. And it is divided into 3 sections. But when people are talking about america they are referring to the U.S. 99.9% of the time.

My mom is ok with computers, but nothing in-depth. I still have to help her once in awhile, but for the most part she gets it. I guess my grandfather and I rubbed off on her a little.(My grandfather knows quite a lot about computers; its surprising seeing as he only was able to finish the 4th grade b/c he had to help out on a farm.)

North America is a whole different ballgame. Panama and up is North America. Columbia and down is South America. Mexico to Panama is Central America. But America is the United States of America.
