Religion topic!

I think it's kind of insulting to think of someone entering a religion for a "wrong" reason. Whatever the reason they want, (and old and getting ready to die seems to be a pretty good one to me), it's a deeply personal choice that each person should be freely allowed to make.

But that's just me.

1) There is no wrongh reasons for being religious "being it catholic muslim pagan budhist ot whatever" the only diferent thing is the way some persons view religion wich is also connected to the way and reason for being religious... and so no one can say "you are catholic for the wrongh reasons because you are only catholic because of your family" in this case for example someone might see religion as being part of a tradition of the comunity he lives in wich besides what some persons might say is not a bad thing... so there are no right or wrongh reasons for being religious, there is just diferent views of religion.

On Sundays I go to a youth club, and I can't help but wonder if half of the children there are mererly christian because thier parents or if they have actually made that choice. However, at least they'll know enough about it at a later age so they can make an informed decision on what to believe. At the end of the day if you believe and live your life accordingly then it's all fine.

I was wondering if there is anywhere in the bible that says interracial marriage is a sin.

Not that I'm aware of, but some christians prefer to marry other chrisitans and I don't know if it's just a local thing or not but there's not many non-white people at my church.

Do you think God watches over you all the time, overseeing every single action you take?

1) all christians are religious for the wrong reasons. They believe in a reward punishment system, if there good they go to heaven - if there naughty they go to hell. But surely being good just so you can go to heaven is selfish as ultimately your helping others not cuase you care about them but becuase you care about yourself and wouldn't want to end up in bad hell *must not sin* so isn't it a bit of a catch-22? I think heaven and hell concept is religions greatest stick to beat you with, nice and effective.

2)i wouldn't be surprised, bible is out of date , badly translated and was written by one ethinic group - well most of it, its also been edited and changed over the years. Why take it literally when all this is true?

3) don't know - can't tell - make assumption does it matter?

If there is a god watching you would you act differently? Is that the only thing in your head stoping you going on a wild raping and pilliaging spree. i doubt it.

God is real and in times to come everyone will find that out...... some the hard way. That is why it is important to try to bring the truth to everyone out there. Jesus died for our sins so we could go to heaven if we choose to accept him.

I am not sure if you are serious, but spreading the truth has already killed too many. I dont think that believers (same as atheists) should spread it anyhow. Because we all know that existence of God is unprovable its up to single each person to decide his own way. Also in case the God is there there is some weird thing in there - every religion thinks that they have "his laws" or "his words" and they give you recipe how to go to heaven.
Nothing against this - they are usually moral, but people may do this only to get the reward of Nirvana, heaven etc...

and to that gay marigies (someone mentioned it here). How christians explain that even animals are homosexual. And arent they supposed to be INNOCENT flawless beings created directly by the God? Or if it was God's intention doesnt that mean he has nothing against man homosxuality too?

i dunno i thought heaven and hell was a taught christian principal, i'm pretty sure the bible has something about only those what follow there principals get into heaven.

Well not everyone, but the majority, yes... 10,000 angels would've came to kill us all... But Jesus asked for all are souls to be saved...

I believe in my religion for my own reasons... I love my God with all my heart... There are too many signs out there not to believe in a religion... But do research into things instead of just speculating...

God gave us all are lives, be thankful for that... Stop blaming and thankng him for everything, just be thankful he gave you the opportunity to experience all this... Which a lot of us take for granted these days...

People want to believe only when they see, sometimes you have to have faith before you can see anything...

Like I said, just read into things, stop thinking you know everything and coming to conclusions... You have one life, one time to die, be careful on how you choose to end yours...

You all know the difference between right and wrong, why does it seem so hard for us to do what is right? I think the media has brainwashed us all into believing so many things, wanting so many uneeded things...
