By my own personal definition, god, if it exists which is neither provable nor disprovable, is the force behind all energy, matter, and physical laws. Nonintelligent by my definition, simply there.

But the god I was reffering to there was the god of christianity (who I'm sure you will find plenty of definitions for), who has little tangible proof of his existence besides the bible.

Hmm, I think thats jumping to conclusions. Maybe people secretly hope for a saviour, and this man called Jesus was simply a charismatic man of great intelligence and insight who saw that treating people fairly was a pretty bright idea. I've no doubt that some if not all of his miracles were faked, never happened or were made up later to enhance his glory. Call it a kind of passive revolution if you will, and Jesus was the mastermind behind it.

Numbers 1 and 2, definetly. Number 3, possibly, depending on who you talk to. Number 4, again depending on who you talk to. Records of back then may have been changed at later dates so it is a fallacy to take them as absolute truth. So the story of Jesus does in fact fit the criteria for a myth. Doesn't prove it is completely fake, myth is simply a label.
So yeah, christ is a myth. As in Zeus!, but people still take him seriously. Are you implying that if Christ is untrue that all christians selfless motivations (largely in the name of either christ) are also untrue?


Perhaps the evidence you have displayed instead proves that Jesus/Horus/(every1 else) were the same person, who by odd temporal coincidince were born several centuries apart. Mathmayically, if two or more lines are parallel, any 1 individual line is no less there than another. Parallel's prove little other than an insight into human nature.

Jesus christ is as much a fabrication as santa. we know this because he is the same as all the other PREVIOUS sons of god from dozens of cultures. everything from the 12 diciples to born on december 25th to crucifixions to the resurrections. its the same myth being used over and over again so this proves christ is made up. sorry.

'm going to have to agree with Disliked and Panda.

It's called faith for a reason, the generation before us that has faith He existed, as God does, but will not know 100% FOR SURE until death takes them, the same for our generation that has faith and the same for generations to come. Like my grandma told me before I found my faith, "if I am right, then I will find my way home to Heaven as it is said, if 'm wrong, then at least I lived a loving, caring and good life."

I would rather lead a life that is good and faithful, not just to God and Jesus, but to myself and those I know, and be wrong about it all.
